Overview
Château Camping de la Grange Fort is set in a castle surrounded by the Auvergne countryside in Les Pradeaux. It features an indoor and outdoor seasonal swimming pool set in large gardens, and a tennis court. The Allier River runs right next to the Castle throughout the campsite. Guest rooms are elegantly decorated with antique furnishings and feature a balcony overlooking the parkland. They come with a fireplace, wooden flooring and an HD TV. The large private bathrooms include a hairdryer. A continental breakfast is included. On site facilities at Chateau de la Grange Fort include a children's playground, table tennis and a boules pitch. It is an old castle. Feels like you are invading the property of a 17th century lord. Absolutely incredible. Lots of old memorabilia.

“Enjoyable stay but needs some work on customer service”
The castle looks great. Kids loved the pool. It’s a little out of the way but that wasn’t an issue. We had a room in the castle. Was spacious and clean with a modern shower.

“Nice tranquil stay in a castle!”
This is a spectacular location and property and the staff that greeted us were pleasant and helpful. You need to use transport to get anywhere because it is tucked away but the positive side of that is that it's quiet and tranquil. The pool is lovely (if a little cold). Rooms are traditional and comfortable.

“Excellent place for kids & families”
This is a utopia for kids. Incredibly fun and safe - nobody there seemed to be up to anything but good stuff. Owner and French reception/pool bar staff very nice and helpful. Does not seem like co-owners/coworkers help owner with landscaping and yard work, your kids won’t notice but adults will see simple cosmetic things that would take five minutes and a ladder to repair. Restaurant has best cheeseburger I’ve had on four continents. Yes the wifi is weak but you’re in a CASTLE - my wifi at home drops off when I’m behind masonry too! Issoire is very close and there is a petit Versailles in Partignant to tour as well. Everyone in the area is lovely even if your French is not, lol. If you’re obsessed with breakfast be advised it’s light at the castle… but bring your own, it’s not a dealbreaker. Highly recommend.

The setting is awesome! Staying in a castle was a great experience. It was a hot day and refreshing in the pool after a long journey was great.
