We loved the hotel, the staff were wonderful and our room was gorgeous. Very clean and a gorgeous chalet style room. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved the cats in their baskets on the stairs.

Very good food and very nice staff. The hotel itself is a bit old fashioned, but I tbink that"s the style in this region. Perfect for staying overnight as we did. Lots of hikers as well, as the scenery is breathtaking. Nice terrace to have lunch/dinner. Breakfast was very good. As a spoiled brad my only comment would be that a balcony and an airco would make it even better.

We really liked this place – it has an authentic mountain retreat feel. We had a large room for our family of four with our own bathroom. The bathroom is a little dated, but it was very clean and in keeping with the style of the accommodation. Breakfast is included (continental style), and the staff were friendly. Parking is also available right next to the hotel.

Bedroom, linen etc clean. No worries there. The room I stayed in had been revamped recently (not luxury quality but absolutely sufficient for what it is). I had booked a room with shower/WC but was given one with a shared WC/Shower. Wasn't a big issue. the Shower room was revery recently redone and very clean and no problem queueing - but then I was the only guest that night. Am not sure I would have the same opinion of the hotel was full. Value for money (for Switzerland). Restaurant food OK, not excellent but OK. Tasted most probably frozen meat but not terrible.

“A perfect Swiss hideaway”

Gästehaus Schäfli is a gem of a hotel with such a friendly welcome, a comfy bed, lovely warm shower and incredible traditional food for dinner - particularly the chicken with special sauce. The walks from the hotel up into the woodland are stunning - all the way up to a perfect picturesque blue lake overlooking the mountains. I'll definitely stay here again and can't recommend it highly enough!

The location on the main road through a mountain pass was wonderful and easy for a travelling family. We hadn't seen mountains like that before and the cable car right nest door was excellent.

Authentic Swiss guesthouse with restaurant/ bar. location is good for visiting the local mountain passes as we were travelling on motorcycles.Basic Breakfast included in price.

Excellent location for visiting the Grand Alpes passes Secure motorcycle parking Lovely food and beer served in a friendly atmosphere. It is sed by locals , says it all really, great value for money.

As room had no aircon in 38 degs, would have at least expected a fan to try and circulate air.
