“A truly heartwarming place to stay.”

This place is a gem. In a town where you can easily pay triple the amount, the owners provide private rooms in a hostel-like experience which is greatly enhanced by their warmth, kindness and hospitality. We visited during Ramadan and ate at the Gite every night until Eid. The evening meals were simple, delicious and healthy: full of vegetables: prefect after a long day hiking, biking, etc. A bonus was condiments we asked for appeared the following day. The dining room was cosy and everyone ate their meals together. This created a convivial atmosphere and we met many interesting people of all ages. The owner was full of local knowledge and able to organise a guide for people wanting to visit toubkhal, direct us to the best shops for local produce and advise on routes, weather conditions and more or less everything else. I chose to stay here after reading many reviews about the hospitality and I'm happy to say they were all true. A truly heartwarming place to stay.

“Not too bad if you are looking for a one night stay”

Excellent breakfast on the tarrace with a nice view and a very polite owner, location is pretty solid.

I recommend this place with all my heart. I went to Imlil completely on my own, but thanks to the owner, I felt as if I were with my best friend. He is an incredibly kind, helpful, and warm-hearted person — thanks to him, you feel in this place as if you were at home. From the very first moment, he makes you feel safe, comfortable, and truly cared for. The place is charming, with a beautiful view, and the food is absolutely delicious — the best tagine I had in Morocco!!!!! If you plan to stay here and go to the mountains, then only with Abdul. After a bad experience with a commercial group trip, I will definitely come back — only to this place and only with this guide (the owner is also a guide). I am very grateful for his kindness, support, and genuine hospitality.

Best hospitality I've encountered in Morocco

“Incredible hospitality, amazing location & fantastic food.”

Fantastic location. Excellent breakfast. The tagine evening meal was delicious. The owner is incredibly hospitable and helpful. I was regularly offered Moroccan tea and as it was so cold soup was made for me. The bed was very comfortable and a portable gas heater was provided to keep guests warm. The shower was lovely and hot.

The host, Abdu is amazing and he did his best to make us feel comfortable and warm. Unfortunately, the place is not suitable for cold weather but this time the weather was extreme, so I believe when it’s warm, it’s really beautiful place to stay. Abdu makes amazing coffee 🤗

“Great value for the money!”

We arrived very late and still the host was waiting for us so checking in was very easy. It was unusually cold in the valley and thankfully the host took well care of us by bringing electric heater into the room in addition to the several blankets already available. The breakfast was delicious: warm local bread, peanutbutter, jams, boiled egg, cheese, caffe and hot tea.

Abdull - the owner is so helpfull, so funny and so nice that I couldn’t resist to stay another night. He can help with hiking, equipment, maps, we even cooked together!

Host was lovely Rooms comfortable and great value for money He cooked us a great (albeit slightly expensive) dinner one night and even let us move rooms to a warmer one.

I enjoyed my stay as Abdou and his family are great hosts, who made me well very welcome. He also gave good advice te the hiking trails. The breakfast was simple but filling and tasted good. The roof terrace was a nice place to sit on the sunshine. Well located steep walk up from town but easy to walk everywhere.

“Perfect mountain village retreat with wonderful hosts”

We have just stayed for four nights here at Gite Tamsoulte. The accomodation is pleasant as advertised, however what makes it exceptional is the hospitality of Abdou and his family, the wonderful hosts. We arrived with a loose plan that we wanted to do some day hikes, and Abdou sat down with us to help plan walks and also day trips to nearby towns that matched our needs. He is a hiking expert and a very genuine person - and a great cook. We enjoyed a beautiful traditional Berber breakfast, with many of the jams and spreads being homemade. His dinners are very filling with simple, authentic flavours that showcase the beautiful Moroccan and Berber cuisines. I recommend getting your taxi to drop you at the accomodation if possible, rather than the grand taxi rank as it is approximately another 10 minutes walk uphill, so will make things easier for you (but not essential). We felt very safe and welcomed here and in Imlil, the locals are very friendly and always happy to help. You must try their local amlou (almond butter) - it is amazing. Although it can be hard to find legitimate reviews in Morocco, I promise, this place is not to be missed.

“Amazing hospitality in the Atlas”

The owner is extremely nice, authentic Berber hospitality at its best. We stayed two nights and given the chance we’d love to come back. It meet our expectations. From the Gite we walked up on a beautiful trekking that Abdul the owner recommended and thorough described for us. We didn’t want a guide since it is an easy trail, but if we ever go back to climb the Toubkal we’d love to go with him. Breakfast and dinner were great, tasteful and prepared on the spot for us. The room was as described, comfortable and with a balcony viewing the valley

Abdul was the best host and was super helpful with anything I needed or any questions I had. The location and view is spectacular and great value for money.
