“Quiet relaxing gem when riding the Shimanami Kaido”

Great quiet place to stay when riding the Shimanami Kaido. Home made breakfast was fantastic and the owner is super helpful.

Easy accsess from the cycleway. The host was so lovely. It felt like staying over at Nonnas house. So clean. It was the first guesthouse we stayed in, so we were very pleasantly surprised. We had a lovely breakfast to start the day.

The host is an extraordinary caring person. She assisted us with sound and helpful informations. We enjoyed the warm atmosphere in her home very much.

The owner is kind and welcoming, my only regret is not staying long enough as I was biking halfway thru shimanami kaido and I need to catch my bus.

The host is very friendly and gave us recommendations on what to do in the island. The breakfast was good. The place is right at Shimanami Kaido cycling route and was very tranquil. Some restaurants nearby.

We cycled from Imabari to Onomichi in 2 days. We stayed at Guesthouse Farmor as a midpoint stop , very convenient , safe and comfortable , highly recommended. The host is very friendly , she made our stay comfortable. She helped to book our dinner in advance , which is important as not many options around there and easy to get full and may not entertain walkin guests. The host prepared breakfast for us, which was delicious. The host speaks English and she lived abroad before, easy to communicate.

“A little taste of local life”

Superb host and adequate room as per many reviews. I appreciate that I am only charged single rate in a double room and also the lifts to the onsen and restaurant (none within walking distance). Breakfast is also adequate. Some lovely paintings in the house.

“Amazing taste of rural Japan”

Atsuko San was really helpful before and during our stay. Really lovely to see rural Japan. There's also an amazing Japanese onsen nearby which Atsuko San told us about. Don't miss out on the outdoor experience like I did (as the labels were in Japanese) but apparently you can see a view of the bridge with the sky from the outdoor onsen.

Totally charming stay in a Japanese home with English speaking host. We appreciated their restaurant recommendations and booking for us.

“A wonderful experience”

This was a perfect pit stop on our cycling trip - half way from Ominichi to Imabari. Our host took us to her favorite Onsen which was really the best we have ever experienced. She recommended a truly excellent Japanese restaurant 10 minutes away from the accommodation. Beds were comfortable and everything clean and homely

The host was so lovely. Although a simple guest house, I had everything I needed. The opportunity to have a more traditional stay than a usual hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at this vacation stay. The host was very helpful. She helped us organise a booking for dinner and sent us on our way with torches and umbrellas. She also went out of her way to organise a very early breakfast before our departure. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Host couldn't be more helpful after a long hot cycle. Cold towels to welcome us, reserved dinner and let us wash our clothes. Very nice experience

“Excellent”

The best is the landlady kindness and helpfulness. Being vegetarians our meals were basically onigiri during the cycling route so she made us dinner. The breakfast was also great. The location is excellent as well.

This is such a cute gem of a place to stay! The hostess is lovely, helpful and sweet. This is a homestay, and its cosy and comfy. Breakfast was tasty. We loved staying and would definitely book this again!

After a full day of cycling across the Shimanami small islands, we finally arrived at the guesthouse. I stood at the entrance near the door and said "hello" a few times, but no one came out. At the end of the room, I saw someone peacefully napping. So, I went out for a walk while waiting for the sweet nap to finish. After about 20 minutes, I came back and greeted again. A woman who looked around 60 years old came out and welcomed us with a smile. After setting everything up, I sat down in the living room and made a cup of black tea. There was some aroma placed in the cabinet, so I asked the hostess if I could try it. After she introduced the aroma, she urged us to soak to the onsen right away. The sunset over the bridge I saw during the onsen was truly amazing—a kind of magic hour. After the onsen and dinner, I returned to the guesthouse, continued enjoying my tea, and tried an aroma called "眠" (Sleep). In that moment, I experienced complete peace, as if time had paused. After spacing out for about two hours, I went to sleep. The night was a little cold. To my surprise, the next morning I saw my sleep score was 97—something I had never reached before. I felt full of energy the next day. It’s really unbelievable—the sleep quality I had there. I still haven’t been able to replicate it. Before leaving the guesthouse, we had a conversation. She said she had worked in Tokyo for about 20 years. After her parents passed away, she moved here. She honestly said there were too many people in Tokyo and she didn’t like it. She prefers the peace here. At that moment, I felt she had shown me how beautiful peace can be. And I realized that, in part of my heart, I’m the same as her. We said goodbye to the hostess and told her, "Stay healthy. We’ll come again."
