We enjoyed our stay here, and liked the area around the hotel. There are a couple of restaurants (dinner) next door, and great nature. Note: there is no traditional reception at this accomodation, you need to come to the restaurant entry - and ask for the key there.

The great place to visit. Simple but very clean and comfortable hotel. Fantastic meals at the restaurant. Beautiful animals at the farm (deers, muflons, donkey, different birds). And amazing personal.

The owners at this property are all great! They all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the food was amazing. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area.

“Charming stay in a natural setting”

Domačija Bubec is set in a beautiful, natural environment, surrounded by trees and animals. The hosts were warm and welcoming. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, and the homemade breakfast was a lovely touch.

Very hospitable owner, wonderful trout from their farm and enormous breakfast. Room upgraded for free. Good location near Croatian border

“Super enjoyable comfortable stay in stunning surroundings”

We loved our stay here, surrounded by the mountains the trout stream burbling in the background. The host was so welcoming and accommodating, the room so comfortable and the food and wine delicious (we particularly enjoyed the smoked and grilled trout!). We explored the stunning local area on electric bikes rented from the TIC. Would love to stay again.

The host and staff were great and more than helpful. Food was great. Atmosphere was brilliant.

We love this place, the best accommodation in Slovenia in my opinion. It's in the forest so it's totally calm, you are next to the nature. If we could, we would live here forever 🥰 The staff can speak English. They are so kind and helpful. She always stopped if we had some questions about where to go and recommended better choices. We are planning to go back next year. 🤗

“Country food and accommodation 40 mins from Postojna Cave”

Great, friendly, welcoming hostess. Beautiful in-house (outside) restaurant which serves food until 21:00. This was a big deciding factor for us to book because we were arriving tired and hungry after a 600km drive from the Dalmatian coast in Croatia. And we were not disappointed as amazing food was offered!! They have a small stream running right under the seating area stocked with trout, so all freshly prepared! Along with fries, roast vegetables and a mixed grill, it was absolutely delicious! Great atmosphere listening to the running water. So glad we stayed here, what a find! Breakfast was an optional €9 each - but then our hostess offered coffee and delicious brioche for no extra charge!

This was our second stay in a year. We all loved to be back, and were accepted like a family! The younger loves to play with the daughter of the hosts, kids were happy to play with animals they know and remember. Fantastic dinners and breakfasts, hard to describe, one needs to try! The resto is very popular among locals. We could stay only 2 nights, but would love to spend more. 100% will come back. Thank you very much and see you next year!

“Friendliest atmosphere ever!”

Amazing place for family with kids, but also for couples who love good food and nature. There are animals all around, farms, cats, dogs, ducks, a donkey, deers. Fantastic trouts grown right there, you can have them smoked or grilled, nice meat restaurant next door, local honey, amazing pancakes for breakfast etc. A petanque field for adults, toys for kids, forests and mountains all around. And most importantly - very lovely hosts, they are attentive to you of us well above average. Very safe - you can leave everything open, even for the night. We stayed for 3 nights, but feel should have done more. Will be back.

“Best accomodation and food combo in the area”

The rooms are quite beautifully decorated and cozy and the house is located in a beautiful area near the river. There is an adjoining farm for natural produce, meat and fish. The family keeping the farm and restaurant made us feel at home, prepared so many wonderful dishes for us and had a perfect selection of wines. Overall it was the most enjoyable accommodation experience we had for a group of motorbikes along the entire Adriatic coastline.
