Superlative in every way, this is a magical place. From the shady verandahs to the ample rooms, Jardim dos Aloés is like stepping into a work of art - reminiscent of Bertolucci or Lampedusa. The breakfasts, with home made breads, jams and marmalades, are delightful. All practicalities are attended to, and the staff are friendly and efficient. Bruno is an amiable, fascinating and informative host. The Ilha is walkable and rich in history. The museum is in essence the Portuguese governor of Mozambique's palace, preserved almost unchanged since the 18th Century or before and, in itself, worth the trip.

“Beautiful hotel in the heart of Ilha”
Bruno was an amazing host! The hotel is a beautifully renovated Portuguese colonial house with large comfortable rooms decorated with exquisite taste. The breakfast was delicious and varied. Would definitely recommend!

“Exceptional. Stunning. Very relaxing”
Excellent breakfast every morning with homemade bread and jam with lovely hosts and personnel in one of the most beautiful pensions and carefully restored building we have ever been. Amazing sunsets on the rooftop terrace with delicious homemade tiramisu. The rooftop is also perfect for yoga, with great views on Ilha. An exceptional stay by all means. Our experience was absolutely delightful – from the warm hospitality of the hosts and staff to the charming atmosphere and adorable pets, every aspect exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail in the decoration and the delicious breakfast made our stay feel extra special. We would love to return and will definitely recommend it to others.

“Lovely B&B full of character!”
The breakfast was amazing. Best coffee I have had in Mozambique so far, lovely homemade jams and bread, and Bruno and his staff were so lovely and helpful. Beautiful setting!

Combines the best of a B’n’B and a homestay. Beautiful building, lovingly and skilfully restored and decorated. Wonderful host/manager who takes an interest in making sure his guests have a great time. Polite and welcoming staff. Wonderful breakfast. Great location in the middle of areas of most interest.

The Bed and Breakfast is a very interesting Oasis in the heart of Mozambique Island. An intimate atmosphere, full of details and very well trained and pleasant staff. The breakfast is unique, including the manufacture of their own bread.

“Perfect place to rest and enjoy Ilha de Moçambique”
Bruno and all the staff members welcomed us and made us feel at home. The place is beautiful and full of details (I took advantage of some of the books they had in the house). The breakfast ritual is wonderful, very tasty and beautifully presented. The best thing is the fried bananas and the bread they make with the citrus marmalade.

Jardim is amazing. Bruno and his team are great hosts. Breakfast was divine. Bruno provides a great history of the island by taking you on a tour, where you really great to know everything. We felt very well-taken care of during our stay.

The house and room are amazing. Great atmosphere and decor, but what we liked the most was the superb hospitality of Bruno, his family and the staff. They made us feel at home and help us to discover Ilha. Let's not forget the fabulous breakfast that suprised us every morning! Thank you! We travelled with our kids and they really loved the place!
