“Ok for a night's sleep”

Host communicated well by messages, and there were facilities to make coffee. The other 2 guests who I met were nice. It's one of the only places to stay near Kamakura (snowdome) village, so the location was decent if you don't have a bus reservation to go back to Iiyama. However, the guesthouse is about a 20min walk from Kamakura village in the dark in the winter (maybe 10min in the summertime).

Well renovated old building with all comfort. It is very good base camp for ski trip in the area though it requires a well equip car if any heavy snow fall. We really enjoyed the large space and decoration in shared kitchen and living room. Owner was really nice and contacted me to inform about snow condition.

“Wonderfully kind hosts!”

A lovely hostel tucked high up in the hills. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Our hosts were exceptionally kind and helpful. We are cycling through Japan and one of the bikes had a major malfunction just before our arrival. With the help of our hosts we were able to organise a taxi early the next morning to take one rider and bike to Nagano, where we were able to get the bike repaired. Thank you!

“Clean and relaxed”

There is a large common area that is well set up. the kitchen had everything you need and a lot of fridge space available. The bedroom was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Each room has its own key. Shared bathroom is basic but clean. Washing machine is also available.

Lots of space and you can use the kitchen and it’s goodies (coffee etc) freely! Tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood so it was nice and quiet.

If you are lucky you can park in garage in the middle of winter. Living room area is great for hanging out and meeting other guests. Toilet is very high class Japanese - even with automatic lid opening and closing.

The place has a unique feel, nice big rooms and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The atmosphere was really good, just as the facilities! The living room was really big and cosy and you have the possibility to cook!

Beautiful home in the countryside. We arrived by car, which I would recommend, and had no trouble finding it. The owner was sweet and even took my partner for a car ride (he is a car enthusiast). The living room is spacious and makes up for the small rooms (which are common in Japan anyway).

Seems to be a nice project. Unfortunately I did not have the chance to talk with the host.

You need a car to visit, it’s in a lovely rural location. The house is huge, great open communal area and kitchen. The fire is great to sit around in the evening and a very relaxed atmosphere. (Extended an extra 2 nights as felt so relaxed and at home here)
