Everything! Yukiko and her family were very welcoming. Yukiko made us deliciousness dinner and breakfast from local products mostly grown or gathered by the family! She went out of her way and made everything vegan for us. The apple juice and ciders were very tasty. The room and common area were perfect, it is clear a lot of thought was given to details. The farm tour in the morning was interesting.

This was an expectional stay outside Iida. Yukiko and her beautiful family were so kind and welcoming. From picking me up from the train station to organising a Washi paper making activity, nothing was too much effort. The breakfast and evening meals were superb and all locally sourced. The accommodation was excellent and felt authentic. Finally for any cherry blossom seekers, this area has trees in ambundance, which I was thrilled to find (thanks for the suggestions Yukiko). I could not recommend this place more. Thank you Yukiko for a super stay and a look at Japan, beyond the big cities. And finally thanks for the cider...it was great!

This was an experience rather than a simple overnight stay. We kicked it off with an apple juice tasting, then were served a delicious dinner (veggie option was gladly made available on request), and could stargaze in the darkness and quiet. The breakfast was equally delicious, and the tour of the farm that the owners run was very interesting (plus we got to ask all of our questions and score some apples straight off the tree). The owners kindly let me practice my Japanese on her, but also speak fluent English. Aside from our stay being a socially wonderful experience, you definitely notice that this property is professionally managed by someone with a background in hospitality. The house was immaculately clean, the layout is well thought out, the service for dinner and breakfast was on point, the provided amenities were just right. The whole house smells of wood (almost all of which is from Japan as the owner explained). The day after when I went back to work I recommended the place to my colleagues!

“A short but enriching stay!”

The hosts were very friendly and sincere in their service to their guests. The breakfast and dinner were good. We tried their apple cider tasting board and I really enjoyed it. We had bonfire after dinner and the children enjoyed gathering dried grasses to add to the fire. The owner even brought us to their mushroom farm and showed the operation of the farm, which we were very impressed. Hope to visit Cider Barn &more again, maybe in another season.

“Magical stay with the best hosts”

Every part of the experience at Cider Barn &more was absolutely fantastic, from start to finish. Our hosts really went above and beyond constantly - from helping us plan our trip, to helping book activities, to showing us around their farm and facilities. You couldn't ask for kinder, more attentive hosts. The building itself is modern and lovely, with great bathrooms etc, and the views are brilliant. Great WiFi throughout the property. The meals served (at an extra charge) were all fantastic and used fresh ingredients from the farm. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

“A lovely stay and experience all round!”

We had such a lovely time staying at Cider Barn&more. The family who run it are lovely, the property is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and clean and the shared shower ablution area is immaculate. We loved the view across towards the city. On arrival we were able to taste the award winning apple juices made by the farm - delicious. And then decided to buy a taster menu of their ciders - absolutely delicious! Our hosts kindly did an outside firepit for us and our kids were able to light some fireworks whilst we chatted and connected with the hosts! We ordered the breakfast in the morning and it was great! After breakfast we were shown around the farm - really educational. This is a very well run place that is cared for lovingly. Definitely worth staying here!

Great hospitality from a truly caring family. Got a personal tour of the apple orchard and the mushroom factory, which was both fun and really interesting. Getting to try all their juices, ciders and freshly picked vegetables really made this place unique.

A wonderful place to stay and explore Iida. The Cider Barn was warm and welcoming. Bathrooms were spotless, the food was great and we were really looked after. To explore Japanese ciders here was a real treat.

Exceptional stay at this beautiful new property! Everything is so clean and has been made to a very high specification. The rooms are a nice size with great facilities for showers and toilet. The communal area/cafe is very nice too and the property is set within beautiful grounds overlooking the city of Iida. We really enjoyed these views and making the most of the countryside, and experiencing apple farming and trying the delicious produce of the Cider Barn. Our hosts Yukiko and Ken were wonderful, very helpful and friendly and gave us good advice. They also prepared some lovely meals for us and we sampled their delicious cider and apple juice. Overall we had an excellent stay here and we recommend it highly to anyone who would like to experience a beautiful scenic part of Japan!
