Overview
Located in a small village in southern Iceland, Hotel Hvolsvollur - Central South Iceland is surrounded with impressive natural phenomena and world famous tourist attractions. Seljalandsfoss Waterfall is one of many waterfall situated close to Hvolsvöllur. It is 60 metres high and visitors can enjoy the view from behind the descending water. The Hekla Volcano is also visible from Hvolsvöllur and there’s an outdoor swimming pool heated by natural geothermal energy in the village. Beautifully situated, Hvolsvollur is an ideal location for further day trips around the southern part of the country. Remember to visit the Mýrdal glacier and one of the most beautiful sites in Iceland, Thorsmörk, that consists of amazing mountains and glaciers. The hotel enjoys an historical setting. This is where Njal's Saga took place in the 10th century. The Icelandic Saga Centre in Hvolsvöllur offers visitors a unique opportunity to discover the world of mythology, ocean voyages, and experience the dramatic and fascinating story of the Viking age. Hotel Hvolsvöllur has an excellent restaurant catering for up to 160 and the menu consists of many Icelandic specialities.

“Friendly, clean and comfortable.”
Friendly staff, clean rooms with plenty of space and a lovely breakfast/restaurant. Great location too- everything you need in the town. Hot tubs was an added bonus surprise!

“Very friendly staff”
Beds comfortable. Dinner in restaurant was revetment upstairs bar was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

“The perfect stay”
Receptionist was extremely nice, polite and helpfull. A wonderful, varied breakfast was included in the price, and there's also an outdoor jacuzzi on site. The hotel offers views of the Northern Lights, and a supermarket and gas station are nearby.

“Convenient”
Convenient for a stopover in Hvollsvollur, just on the edge of town. Good restaurant. Good buffet breakfast. Very prompt laundry service, hand it in early evening and it will be ready at around 09:30am the following morning. They have hot tubs for customers use. Convenient free parking at the front of the property.

Breakfast was great! and liked that it was included. Very well stocked. Good selections. Also liked the location was close to the ferry and easy to find right off the highway. Was located in a very quiet neighborhood.

“Nice stay in the last larger town before the national park.”
Pretty solid hotel to stay in the south of Iceland. They have a nice breakfast and hot tubs at the back. Perfect for your winter travels.
