It was a very peaceful farm homestead with open views across the countryside and an easy 10 mins drive into Hvammstangi. I'm a sucker for a friendly dog and Dibly the owners black and white Collie dog was adorable and likes to play fetch. The breakfast is served in a garden room with great views.

Good accommodation for a short stay along the ring road. Rooms have a private bathroom and are good, although a little outdated.

I've been on a 2 weeks tour with a bicycle and stayed here for a night. Dinner and Breakfest in the restaurant has been quite good. I had a double-bed room for me (single traveller). There is a nearby natural hot pot (400m, Hellulaug). You are allowed to use the hotels towels and bathrobe also for that (thats what the staff told me). For a single person the room has a good. The space next to the bed (aside) is perhaps a bit narrow, but for me it was okay. Good WIFI in that remote area.

“A good night and nice dog”

The hotel has a very cute dog, and if you want he wants to play with you with a stick or stone :-). I have stayed there for one night at the beginning and another one at the end of my bicylce tour. For the two weeks inbetween the owner allowed me to park my car there for that time. I appreciate it, thank you very much. There is a good breakfest with various types of coffee, oatmeal, fruits, croissants, boiled egg, jam, cheese, applejuice, orangejuice, tea etc. That gave me good power for the first day cycling. The single room has one bed, the shower is super hot. No TV in that room I have booked (which I knew of course), good WIFI. Thank you very much.

“Lovely friendly staff as was the dog who greeted us on arrival”

As we pulled up in the car park greeted by a lovely friendly dog at our car. Nice lounge area to drink tea and look out over the large pond. Breakfast spread was outstanding particularly the warm croissants with ham and bacon in/on them. Fresh warm bread to slice yourself and creamy butter. So much choice but couldn't try everything but gave it a good try.

A bit cold even in summer

“Not too comfortable”

Hot water was kept after 9pm. We have no water to drink in the evening and morning before we start the journey. There is no kettle too.

Excellent location just off the N1 main road. Free breakfast was good and had a good selection of food. Lovely view of the lake. Accommodation was to a good standard and beds were comfortable. Very good water pressure in the shower. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
