Beautiful location, away from the crowds. Hikes can be started right behind the house. Super comfortable beds and highlight for sure is Saemi, the wonderful host. He does everything himself with passion, the homemade Islandic breakfast is outstanding and the soup he provides at night super delicious. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable!

Sæmi goes out of his way to welcome you and make you feel at home. The accommodation has a very homey atmosphere. The interior is older and testifies to the history of the house. It will not appeal to everybody. But people who come here are in search of and appreciate hospitality. For us, it was outstanding.

Our host was amazing! He made our stay unforgettable. If you want the real Icelandic experience with heartwarming gestures then this is the place! The surrounding was amazing, and the host knew exactly how to treat us everyday with the best breakfast, waffles, soup and top recommendations for hikes.

Authentic, honest and a superb homemade breakfast. The house has charm, the host is attentive, we stayed with 2 small kids. Filled the hot tup for us, baked waffles on arrival and when we left. He is there but not to much and overall it's just a cool location and something different in Iceland.

“Absolutely amazing stay!”

The host is incredibly friendly, full of great stories and local tips that help you truly experience Iceland. The homemade breakfast (and dinner!) were delicious, the rooms cozy and comfortable, and there’s even a hot tub. All of that for the price of two gas station hot dogs - unbelievable value. Honestly, I almost wish I couldn’t recommend this place, just so I wouldn’t have to fight for a booking next time! ;)

“A real guesthouse as we barely see nowadays!”

Really appreciated our host's welcoming with waffles, the dinner gathering around a warm soup with other guests as well as the delicious breakfast (the skyr/yogourt/coffee mix especially)! Reminded us what guesthouses were originally meant to be and that we don't see anymore over the years unfortunately with all self-serve check-in with keyboxes. Real human contact - meeting and sharing with people all over the world through a dinner / breakfast are part of the journey. Thank you!

Saemi was such a kind and warm host!! We really enjoyed him and our stay so much. He provided us hot waffles when we reached, vegetable soup and a great breakfast with Icelandic specialties. Highly recommend!! It was a great start for our trip in Iceland

In a very expensive country, it was reassuring to stay somewhere with exception value for money with breakfast and evening soup including. A very welcoming host.

Great guest house, tea and waffles with cream and home made jam on arrival, home made Vegetable Soup which was delicious with bread in the evening and a great spread for breakfast in the morning. The host was a lovely local man. Ideally located for into the Glacier and lots of local hikes

If you are looking for the unique experience in Iceland, this is the place to go. Most of the accommodations when we were staying at during our visit in iceland, we didn't have the opportunity to communicate with the owners of the guesthouses, but not that one. The owner was so welcoming, friendly and talkative. Moreover after our long day of sightseeing, when we arrived at his guest house, he gave us a dinner, that he made it on his own. It was the soup that was very delicious. Than in the morning he prepared us unforgettable and nutritious breakfast. About the place that we were staying at. It is an old icelandic house that is very beautiful and something special. And about the owner, I'm speechless. He was so nice. If you have any question about iceland, some tourist attractions, his house, family or something else, feel free to ask him, because he will love to answer it. To conclude, this was probably our best experience on Iceland and we are sure that we will come back to visit this owner and stay at his guesthouse ❤️.
