“Quiet hotel that feels like home”

Amazing time with Eva ! The lodge is outside the city, in a quiet area that you reach by walking 6’ from the main road. It is not accessible if you have reduced mobility. The first time Eva comes to get you even if you arrive late. The room are really spacious with on top a hammock ! I got the one with terrace and it was great to hang out and put laundry. The breakfast is simple but great. Expect something different each day. What made a real difference for me was the hospitality of Eva - she was always ready to help, hang out with me in the kitchen in the evening and tried to make me feel at home in all ways possible. The full access to the kitchen is really good since I was craving homemade food after a while travelling. You reach the city by taking a colectivo either 10 or E for 2 /s - very cheap and efficient.

We arrived to the hotel Casa del Montanista at the most perfect time on our trip for a rest and to regain energy. We was very welcomed by the owners and their family, they was very kind and helpful with everything. They assisted with booking tours for us and ensuring we arrived there safely to the meeting spot at 4am. We felt really comfortable and happy during our stay. We had access to the kitchen where we was able to prepare food for ourselves, our room was lovely, cosy and it had a balcony where we was able to do yoga and watch the sunset over the mountain.

We loved that the Ecolodge was out of the city of Huaraz & that all we could hear was the sound of the river. We loved the room & the hammocks in the chill area in the garden. We also loved hanging out with the dogs, the cat & the chicken 😃. The breakfast was great & the family was super friendly & helpful. Walking us to the lodge in the dark & even coming with us into town at 4.30am to make sure we got the right bus for our hike to Laguna 69.

What a great find. A few minutes away from the hustle and bustle in Huaraz and set along the river in a beautiful natural setting. Lovely hosts, delicious breakfasts, hammocks, comfy beds, and we received amazing support organizing logistics for our hike. My son fell in love with their puppy and so did I. Thank you!

This hotel is amazing for people that like a quiet place to stay, close to nature, with local and warm people. Eva and Ivan are exceptional and received us very well, they are always available to help and share experiences. It felt like home. The breakfast is delicious and different each day. The rooms are spacious with a nice view. Next time in Huaraz I will definitely stay there again.

It’s located a bit outside of the city and it’s quite and beautiful. But it’s also very convenient to take a bus to the city center in 5 mins.

Fantastic location, within nature and quiet, but with good and cheap connections to the city. Breathtaking views over the river and the mountains. Eva was always reachable, attentive, and happy to help. She was really sweet, the best host I could have wished for. I will definitely come back

We chose this property because it’s outside of the hustle and bustle of the city of Huaraz, which is quite noisy and dirty, but still close enough to the city so we could do day hikes. We loved it here so much we decided to stay for 2 weeks. The place is run by a sweet and loving family. Eva makes a delicious breakfast every morning for you to enjoy in the morning sun while you listen to the river gushing by. Ivan can give you all the necessary information on what to do and see in the cordillera blanca. He will even guide you to a nearby waterfall if you ask! If you don’t have your own transport, like us, there are collectivos that stop outside the property every 10 minutes (line 10 and E) to take you to the city for 2 soles. With the collectivos it was easy for us to go do some shopping or start our day treks to Chrurup and Llaca. The collectivos are also fun to mingle with the locals. Apart from the tranquility of the place and the lovely cute dogs that run around, we loved the kitchen a lot as well. Fully equipped and you get free range and a large space in the fridge. We got some fabulous ingredients at the Mercado Central and did some of the best cooking we’ve ever done on holiday! Also really enjoyed the shower! Very hot water and good pressure! The wifi is also very fast and good! We were also allowed to leave our bags when we went on the Santa Cruz trek and Eva even accompanied us in the taxi to the city when we left (at 4.30 am). On our last day we had a night bus at 10 pm and we’re allowed to just hang around the property until we felt like going to the city to catch the bus. Lastly, Eva can arrange any and all trips you would like to do when there if you give her a days notice - day trips you would normally book at your hostel, like Laguna 69, Paron, Nevada Mateo etc. Just ask her, she is very willing to help!

Beautiful mountain setting overlooking the Rio Santa below.. The owner was very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Great location for those who don't like being in the hustle and bustle of the city. It's easy and cheap to catch a collectivo (mini van) into the city of Hauraz.
