Overview
Located in the midst of the Bohemian Paradise on a rock formation, the family-run Hotel Štekl - Hrubá Skála offers rooms in a castle-style building with free WiFi right next to the Hrubá Skála Castle. The rooms are fitted with a TV and a private bathroom and feature a seating area and a desk. Some rooms offer a view of the Trosky Castle, some rooms overlook the Žlutá Skála Castle. The guests can relax on a terrace surrounded by a forest that also features a children's playground. The Štekl Hotel has its own restaurant on site that serves modern Czech cuisine. Breakfast is provided every morning. The Hrubá Skála Rock Town is 100 metres from the property and the Prachov Rocks are 17 minutes by car away. There are many castles in the area: the Trosky Castle 6 km away, the Kost Castle 12 km away and the Sychrov Chateau 16 km from the hotel. In the months of July and August, there is a bus stop on site. Outside the summer season, the nearest bus stop is 2.5 km away. Free parking is available on site.

“Elegant hotel in the middle of the Bohemian paradise”
This classy and elegant hotel sits among the trees atop a mountainous rocky peak. The staff were very helpful and kind. The room with balcony was a true treat and as soon as we opened the doors we were immediately greeted by the songs of birds coming from the treetops. The views are incredible and there are many hiking trails that begin right from the hotel’s doors. Also recommended for people looking to relax and reconnect with mother nature, this is the place you want to be! The 4 course menu was delicious, the italian risotto being one of the most savory we ever had. Good wine selection, we tasted 3 different types and loved all of them. The service was impeccable and it remains one of the highlights of our trip to Czech Republic.

“An unforgettable stay!”
I had a view of Trosky castle from my hotel room. Absolutely incredible! The hotel has a private car park so even when it was busy outside, there was always parking available. I would also recommend having tea here. The 4 course meal was outstanding. I wish I could have stayed longer.

“Great stay in Bohemian Paradise”
Lovely hotel in the middle of Bohemian paradise - very clean and comfortable rooms, great food in the restaurant (buffet breakfast and 3 course dinners) and great service. All staff at the hotel were friendly, courteous and helpful and we were impressed by the attention to detail (rooms, buffet breakfast, dinner etc). Great scenic location located in the middle of hiking paths enabling us to explore Bohemian Paradise by foot.

The dinner was very good, tasty, fresh and well presented. The staff were good, spoke little English but we managed to order and be served what we wanted. Breakfast was adequate with a simple hot buffet and small selection of cheese, cold cuts, breads and fruits. As the fried eggs were in shaffing dish, I would recommend to cook less of them, more often.

“Wonderful place to enjoy Cesky Raj”
Fantastic location, next to the more historic castle and you can visit their restaurant all the same. The trails for the rock city are right there outside of the car park.

Recently renovated, clean and comfortable rooms, with a quite nice restaurant on site. Lovely location with friendly staff. Easy access (by car) to surrounding landmarks.

“Most charming castle hotel at very convenient location”
There is a lot to like about this place: the location right next to the entrance of the Bohemian paradise (do try the Mouse Hole entrance right across the car park; it's one of the best parts of the reserve), the very, very friendly staff, the breakfast buffet being-as-it-should-be, the area, and ... the terrace at the castle next door. Also the hotel itself has this HerculePoirot-like atmosphere - which is very inspiring.
