Perfect location in the center of the Faroe Islands. Cute & cozy apartment house with a beautiful view of the sea. Has a heating/drying cabinet for wet clothes, which is definitely useful on the islands. Would absolutely book again.

Great location, secluded yet a good starting point into any direction of the islands. Unbelievably beautiful view, great terrace and everything you need for a warm, cosy stay. The fact that there are no resturants nearby made the experience even more unique, cooking at home in absolute wilderness.

“Perfect stay at the Boat House”

The Boat House is just amazing! Comfy, spacious, brighty, quiet... everything is perfect to feel like in your own home at the Faroes. The most impressive are the views from both sides of the house: the fjord and Eysturoy Island one side, and the village of Hosvik with its waterfalls other side. Incredible all the work that Gunnbjorn and his family have done rebuilding the boat house after a storm destroyed the original one. Now the Boat House looks so pretty and gorgeous! Perfect for a road trip around all the Faroe Islands because it is just in the middle of Streymoy.

Great location and view. Perfect apartment for our need. Unlike some other accomondations this was cosy because it felt like it was built and equipped for owner familys own summer cottage. We loved it.

Newly built boathouse with great view and all the comfort needed, which is especially nice on a rainy day. The host is very easy going and provided very good support for special requests.

“Good find and central to most attractions”

The accommodation is well set up and insulated. Adequate heating. Facing a great lake view and a lovely village as a backdrop. The host was friendly and hospitable, and accommodated our check-in time with excellent communication via WhatsApp. Great view both front and back of the house / shed.

“Our 3rd visit to the boathouse”

The location is hard to beat. Sea is 3m from the house. Also only a 25min drive to Thorshavn. Very quiet.

The boat-house is in a fantastic location, quite central to all the islands. This means that many of the places you'll want to visit are all 30-45 minutes away. The village is quiet, and although on a "main road", there was no traffic noise. The boat-house has a very well equipped kitchen with everything you need, and a spacious main room with comfy sofa and large table to eat/work at. The weather was quite bad a couple of days I was there (strong winds and heavy rain) so it was great having somewhere I could just sit and look out of the large windows at the weather! The drying cabinet downstairs was appreciated on these days. My flight was also very delayed due to the bad weather and I didn't arrive until midnight- the host had left the house open and came round the next morning to check I was all okay and take payment. This was greatly appreciated. The book on the coffee table showing how they built the boat-house was interesting too :) Hopefully I will return to the Faroes for another visit some time, and I'll definitely be looking to book this property again if it's available.
