“A wonderful stay as usual”

I come here every year and I like that it is always excellent. The host really cares about making this a special place, with a very mediterranean feel. He is very skilled at creating a very nice effect all round. There is a lovely terrace with atmospheric lighting and comfortable relaxing seating as well as a table and chairs and romantic net curtains. You can walk down to the pond (vijver) which looks lovely day and night. The accomodation is a separate building next to the main house, and which is very quiet. There is a main room with a big extremely comfortable bed, a table and chairs, lighting and power points, a refrigerator always stocked with breakfast food and drinks and a sink area with coffee machine, kettle and egg cooker. Bread and fruit is also provided and the host regularly replenishes everything. The bathroom is also very tastefully decorated with a beautiful mirror and good working shower and excellent hairdryer. Soaps are provided. If you need a long mirror it is at the back of the front door. If like me you come at a colder time of year there is efficient heating which you can control yourself to your own needs. This isn't just a place to stay; it is a great experience in itself. Only 25 minutes to walk to the centre - I always walk there as I enjoy the autumn trees and the residential area. The whole experience is worth every cent!

What an absolute gem! Marcel was a very attentive host. Spoke excellent English and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, clean and had everything we have needed. The breakfast was replenished and the room was made up each day. The property is situated a short walk away from the main town and shops. It is a short 10 minute walk to the nearest parkrun, which was handy. Thank you for your hospitality Marcel.

“Perfect Zuiderpark Hoogeveen stay”

A lovely place to stay in a very quiet and scenic location. Very comfortable bed and a large sized room with good facilities. The breakfast provided was lovely and a great deal of choice. The host was very helpful too recommended local places to eat. Loved it. A perfect place to stay for Zuiderpark Hoogeveen parkrun which is a short walk away.

Everything matches the description and the photos so there was nothing unexpected. I have been before so was happy to find it is still the great place that I choose every time I need to stay in Hoogeveen. Ample food and drinks are provided for breakfast which are replenished every day. The bathroom is perfect - bright lights and mirror to do hair and make-up, nicely chosen products for washing hands etc., so you can see the owner is concerned also for the little details which is evident throughout. It feels like a restful safe place. And it is a simple 25 minute walk into the centre. I always enjoy that walk. I really like the bed and furnishings and plenty of power points and nice lighting. Also it is easy to control the heating which is very important. I was never too hot or too cold, which can be a misery in some places. The terrace is lovely too - again all nicely thought out.

This is one of the nicest B & B's we've had the pleasure to stay at in NL. Marcel is an attentive and generous host. We appreciated the welcome bottle of wine and many other beverages for us to enjoy, including beer, juices and soft drinks. He provides an amazing breakfast including coffee, fruit, breads, cheese and meat, cereals, juices - even an egg cooker. The bed is super comfortable, the room is airy and bright. We loved our private terrace overlooking a garden and pond. There is a Nespresso coffee maker and a kettle and small fridge. The bathroom is great - nice big shower with products for our use. it's in a quiet residential area, not far from Hoogeveen. Marcel made excellent restaurant suggestions. Overall, we are thrilled and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this charming little place. We hope to return. Dankjewel , Marcel!!

We can highly recommend this accommodation! It was the best vacation flat we ever had. Everything was great and the atmosphere was really cozy. Would definitely visit again.

Very nice room with plenty of space, located in a nice quiet residential area. Just 15' walk to the town centre where there are plenty of good places for dinner ( got recommendatoins from the host, and they were spot on). Safe parking. Good bed, beautiful bathroom, everything decorated with style. Drinks in the refrigerator, small snacks available. Everything is there. Highly recommended. My 2nd stay here, and I will be back whenever I am in the neighbourhood.

“Best place to stay in Hoogeveen”

This is my second time here for a yearly event and I stayed a week. It is the only place I would want to stay in Hoogeveen because I can't imagine something that would suit me better. I like the privacy. Breakfast is great - there is a refrigerator and an egg cooker. The host keeps everything freshly topped up, like bread and fruit and drinks and there is a coffee machine which is essential for me. When I stayed here before I loved it then, but some things have even been improved - like more accessible power points and lighting over the table. It is very Riviera Maison style which I like. The terrace is lovely even in autumn, and you can look out onto the pond, watch ducks etc. Nice to sit here and have a beer - blankets available if cold. The room, bathroom and terrace is a separate building from the rest of the accomodation/the host's house so nice and quiet and private and with own entrance. Bed is exceptionally comfortable. Bathroom great including a good mirror and good lighting, nice shower area and a washtable with handy drawers The host is very kind and helpful and makes sure you have everything you need.
