“Booked for 1 night, stayed for 3 !”
Last stayed here in 2019 and looked forward to returning. Very comfortable room was spotlessly clean with high quality fittings. The breakfast included a good choice of tasty buffet items and scrambled eggs cooked fresh on request. The staff were extremely helpful in looking after us. Initially only having booked a 1 night stop over on our way to Sweden, we broke down on the A1 autobahn straight after checking out. After being recovered by ADAC back to Holdorf, we were able to return for 2 more nights while our car was being repaired. The hotel kept in touch with the workshop. Just 5 minutes walk away, Autohaus Schlarmann also did a great job of repairing our car in just 2 days. In this time we explored the local area on foot and spent some very pleasant time relaxing in the hotel terrace. The hotel also offers excellent bar and restaurant services, and we also made full use of the WiFi.

“Great stop-over with fabolous kitchen”
We booked this as a convienent stop-over and found a perfect place for any stay. And, you know, with a place to get some food. Just to find, wow, what food! For many, many years I have wondered about this German frenzie about ”Spagel!!” (white aspargus). I’ve even tried cocking it myself, to little revelation. Then comes ”zur Post” and now, at long lasr, we know: Spagel! And, having two different dishes (one with bechamel, one sith buttery potatoes, we’re still debating which one was the best. Oh… yes, we did stay the night in a lovely double room. Some early noisy traffic, but who cares, dreaming about aspargus. A final side note: inspired by zur Post, the next day, in Bernkastel, we ordered asparagus. And, well, ones that goes into my old book of ”Why Asparagus”. The answer hou will find in Holdorf… as long as the keep their great chef.

Nice location near autobahn A1, very frendly staff and good food. They have a bar inside and a nice garden. Breakfast was very good, and the freshly made scrambled eggs is one of the best we have tasted.

“Cozy apartment”
We got an apartment with kitchen and the kids they own bed in the living room, what gives some privacy for the adults. Very cozy place. The only confusion was about breakfast, which probably was included but we didn’t know, so we left without enjoying it.

Close to the A1 so made an excellent stop for our journey Although the restaurant was closed that day there were plenty of food choices very close ( just across the road ) Garages in very close proximity to refuel Super friendly staff Lovely apartment with kitchenette

“I have stayed in many Hotels, The Hotel Restaurant Zur Post has to be one of the best.”
Very friendly Staff. The Hotel was lovely and clean, we even complimented one of the ladies on the cleaning staff. The food was good and the service was quick with no fuss. Breakfast was also really nice and plentiful, as a Brit I love my tea hot, unlike a lot of hotels there was a kettle to boil the water so I was able to enjoy a steaming hot cup of tea with my breakfast. The cost of two single rooms was very fair indeed. I was very surprised when told the Hotel has no stars, I would class it with 4 stars + Plus.

It was a short but nice break on our way to Hamburg. The apartment has been very clean, spacious and well equipped.
