After a particularly busy year hosting family and friends and our children's schedule with their school play, we enjoyed the privacy and not being near town or people for this trip. Having no TV, wifi or reception was actually a bonus. We had plenty time to just 'be' and truly connect and enjoy each other which is exactly what we wanted. The view was beautiful and very peaceful. The garden was lovely to play in. We aren't really fishermen but we enjoyed having a go at the lake. And the fireplace and electric blankets were so enjoyed! It was good to meet Robyn on arrival and the welcome cake was a nice touch. Made even more special since it was actually my birthday weekend. I will advise though to pack some doom for the flies.

The location is superb, so peaceful and quiet. The house is fully stocked with everything one could need, its serviced daily which is a bonus. Also got to see the sheep sheering, got a full tour on the process and how the grading is done. Very interesting. The walk to the caves is a must to see the rock art, something special!

Peaceful surroundings. Very hospitable hosts. Wonderful horseride over the hills. Good fishing.

It is a great place to unwind off grid and no TV. Appreciate nature.

The location was stunning and the cottage was well equipped. We were lucky to be able to watch sheep shearing and Neil explained the process to us, fascinating . Robyn's chocolate cake was delicious.

“We did not stay there as the hosts were not aware of our arrival”

We arrived at a closed gate, I called the number on Booking.com which was wrong. Found a number on the internet which went unanswered. Eventually someone opened the gate for us. We drove a very bad road to the lodge which we found locked and we were without any cellphone reception. After an hour we decided to drive back out, only to be locked in by the farm gate again. I eventually got hold of the owner who said that she never got the booking.

Incredible stay! Had such a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying nature at it's best. Probably the most well stocked self-catering stay we've been to yet. Can't wait to come back

Beautiful and peaceful , lack of Vodacom reception an added bonus that really helped us relax . They provided a generous amount of perfectly dry firewood that made fire starting easy even for a novice.
