Our stay at Rhino Villa was the absolute highlight of our trip to South Africa. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect finale to our adventure. The villa itself is stunning. We were thrilled with the spacious rooms and their cozy private patios. The main terrace, with its dining area and comfortable lounge, became our evening sanctuary — the perfect spot for all of us to gather, share stories of the day, and enjoy a glass of wine by the pool. We felt incredibly pampered. Our private chef and the staff were exceptional. Every meal was a masterpiece — it felt like fine dining, with beautiful presentation and incredible flavors. The fridge was always stocked with cool drinks, and we were constantly delighted by lovely surprises, like wine or champagne presented beautifully in an ice bucket with flowers. But what truly made our experience magical were the people. Adél is the kindest and most attentive host we’ve ever met in South Africa. We will always remember her greeting us with a warm smile and refreshing wet towels every single time we returned from our game drives. The safari was phenomenal, largely thanks to our amazing rangers, Kelly and Solly, who made each game drive an immersive learning experience. We didn’t just observe the animals and birds — we learned so much about them, the bush ecosystem, and life in South Africa in general. The coffee breaks and picnics in the bush were the cherry on top. Even back at the villa, the wildlife encounters continued — from rhinos and antelope visiting to monkeys playing in the trees by the terrace, we felt constantly connected to nature. Rhino’s Rest really lives up to its name. I had a restful time with my family as we wrapped up a busy and blessed 2024. From the initial conversation, up until our checkout, Adél was so understanding, considerate and exemplified what it means to be a host par excellence. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the layout of the living space creates a feeling of openness and tranquility as it extends in to the bush. It made us feel very connected to our surroundings.

And this is all because of Adel, a real gem! She did absolutely everything to make our stay unforgettable, making sure you relax and enjoy every minute. WOW, I don’t even know where to begin. The property exceeded all our expectations and was exactly as advertised and more. Adel the hostess, was thee greatest host, from the moment the booking was confirmed she kept contact with us and made sure our stay was a wonderful experience. From the beautiful meat and cheese platter on arrival to the champagne and cake for a birthday everything was more than we could have imagined. Adél goes out of her way to ensure you have an amazing stay and the best text ever received “lions on the property - please be careful” was a significant highlight. The drives were well organised, flexible and relaxed - Adél provides the snacks and the home made dip was incredible! The house was spotless and getting laundry done an added bonus! We will definitely be returning soon!

“Unexpected luxury wildlife experience”

Rhino's rest is a self catering accommodation within the Moditlo game reserve in Hoedspruit. This is a top luxury place with all amenities you can think of. One of our party had his birthday during our stay and the management surprised us with a huge birthday cake. We needed the full two days to 'process' it :-) . Via the nearby lodge we did the afternoon/night game drive and it was above our expectations. Good sightings of Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Jackal, Rhino ... . To top it off a Civet Cat came to visit us during our late night braai. Amazing experience worth every Rand, Euro or Dollar you have.

Our family had the most incredible stay at Rhino's Rest during our holiday in South Africa. It was undoubtedly the highlight of the trip, largely thanks to the exceptional host, Adele. The lodge itself was beyond amazing – spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with everything one could possibly need for a fantastic holiday. Of course, the real magic happened when we saw lots of animals in front of our lodge and during the safari experiences within the private reserve. Seeing lions, rhinos, cheetahs, and even a baby giraffe up close was an awe-inspiring experience that left us in complete awe of the natural world. The well-organized safaris added an adventurous touch to the stay, making it all the more special. Overall, I can confidently say that our stay at Rhino's Rest was the best part of our entire South African holiday. Adele's hospitality, the stunning lodge, and the captivating safari experiences combined to create an unforgettable and truly exceptional getaway.

We loved absolutely everything about our stay at Rhino's Rest. The property itself is STUNNING! Everything is immaculately clean, beds are comfortable and kitchen is well stocked. We saw rhino everyday, lions mating, giraffe, elephant and all the game. Adél is an incredible, friendly and genuine host who made our stay everything we could have hoped for and more. Zodwana and Nelius do a fantastic job keeping the property clean and well maintained. We honestly cannot recommend Rhino's Rest anymore highly! We will be back!
