Overview
Surrounded by nature and views of the Snøhetta Mountain, this hostel is 30 km from central Dombås. It offers free Wi-Fi, along with a communal kitchen, dining room and fireplace TV lounge. The basic rooms at Hjerkinnhus all have a washbasin, wardrobe and access to shared bathroom facilities. Bicycles and canoes can be rented on site, as well as horseback riding trips and muskox safaris organised by Hjerkinnhus staff. Guests can enjoy BBQ facilities and a summertime café. Breakfast is also available. Just 3 km away is a lookout point for Snøhetta Mountain, while the Hjerkinn Train and Bus Station is 200 metres from the hostel. Fishing and hiking in the Dovre mountain range are common area activities.

It's a good place near the station when travelling by train. People are very kind. The beds are very confortable and the breakfast good. This area is very wild : typical norvegians mountains

Suitable for a one-night stay if you're passing through the area. The price-quality ratio is good. The breakfast had a very good selection. The service was slow (we had to wait for more pancakes, eggs, and bread), but everything was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. The showers on the ground floor were renovated and clean.

“Cyclist stop”
So nice of them to arrange dinner as requested beforehand despite late arrival, after cycling the whole day to get there! It was super delicious as well.

Nice structure of the hotel giving a cozy and comfortable vibe, very chill, no city noises just some sheep roaming around, lovely being in the middle of nature. There is a common fridge for guests which was very useful.

We liked the clean, spacious rooms and the comfy beds. Also the shared bathroom facilities are great, more than enough, and super clean. Breakfast was very extensive and delicious: bread, eggs, yoghurt, cereals,pancakes, fruit, cheese, meet, fish and some local specialties. Staff is super helpful and friendly. And the location is great, close to the trails to explore the area. Totally recommended, we would definitely stay here again!

Bathroom was amazing and the room itself was simple but clean. Management and staff were really helpful and even went the extra mile to pick me up when I got lost. Definitely worth the price I paid
