“Exceptional”

The hosts, Akira and Yone greeted us with the most authentic apple juice—it was so refreshing! The decoration of the place was nice and warm, making us feel right at home as soon as we stepped inside. Both hosts spoke excellent English, we shared easily about our interests and experiences, and it was such a delight to connect on a personal level. We enjoyed the experience of staying in a Japanese home and would love to come again.

Almost new home with great facilities, well appointed. Akira and Young e were great hosts and were able to give us some ideas on where to go. We even had a shamisen concert

This place is beautiful and clean. Host is very friendly as well. Surrounding environment is nice and quiet. Better if you have a car to get there because the train stop and bus stops are not nearby. You will need to get to the city for restaurants.

“Stylish family home surrounded by apple orchards”

Lovely house surrounded by apple orchards in the rural outskirts of Hirosaki. This is a really. stylish home owned by two friendly English speaking university lecturers. The bedroom is a good size and with a fantastic view of Mt Fuji look-alike Iwaki-san. It’s shared showers and sinks downstairs (all very clean) but there’s also a loo upstairs. The rooms have no facilities for making tea etc - that’s done in the family kitchen downstairs where there’s also a big fridge and lots of crockery and everything else you might need. This place doesn’t offer breakfast - you’ll need to make your own. You also need a car to access anywhere to eat at night as it’s in a very quiet area. But that’s part of its charm.

Host is friendly and helpful. The place is extremely clean and nice.

This house is surrounded by apple orchard ( they are not Orchard owner ) , the room is very clean and comfortable . we can use kitchen freely. there's no restaurant near by , but you can get food from market about 10 minutes away by car . the host Mr. and Mrs. Kashima were very friendly , my rental car got accident , the bumper dropped , Mr. Kashima tried very hard to help me to fix it , really appreciate his effort. he also help me to book another air B&B for my next trip since that host only speak Japanese, it's great help , definitely stay at this place if I go to Hirosaki again .

A home away from home! After five days of busy travel, arriving at Akira’s home was a wonderful experience. He and his wife were incredibly hospital and kind and their house is beautiful. Everything is thoughtful, comfortable and meticulously clean. The shower is amazing! Hirosaki is definitely worth visiting and so is Akira’s home! We wish we could have stayed longer.

If you are travelling by car, this is the very best accomodation you can choose. Hirosaki is a hidden gem and so worthwile visiting. But staying at this lovely homestay truly made our trip extraordinary. The hosts speak perfect English, communication pre and during the trip was smooth and pleasant. We were welcomed with homemade apple juice and I got freshly ground and brewed coffee to round off my breakfast (this was a nice gesture, there are no food options, you need to dine out or bring your own food). The house is located on the outskirts of the city, so only makes sense when you have your own wheels. The room and amenities are immaculate. All you need and more. Bring your own towels though! The cherry on top were the mesmerizing sunrises and sunsets that we were lucky enough to see from our room. Perfect place to stay at, authentic Japanese countryside experience and very budget-friendly choice to boot.

The owners were lovely, very helpful, spoke excellent English and gave us advice on what to see in the area, including sights not included in our guidebook. It was excellent for a family as there was lots of room. We had a tatami mat bedroom, as well as use of a shared dining room and second tatami mat room, which the kids used to play in when they woke up early. It was really nice to have more space than a hotel room and we also enjoyed the experience of staying in a Japanese home.
