Amazing hostel, perfect for solo travellers as it’s super social with activities daily, without being a party hostel. It’s super clean and feels safe :)

Very social with many activities, lovely staff, curtains on the beds. Nice and clean. Free drinking water, good wifi. Just a short walk to the beach. Kitchen with water cooker for tea and a fridge.

Really enjoyed my stay here, Azza the owner and his staff were all amazing, really friendly and looked after me. Would highly recommend this place for solo travellers and groups of friends as it ticks all the boxes. Will definitely go back! Really good value for money as well.

Everything - we enjoyed the family dinner, sunset beach volleyball and jungle party during our stay. Also got some great recommendations from the team about where to see turtles and other activities on offer around the place. Central location and could hire bikes next door to easily get around everywhere. Dorms were clean and comfortable. People were great. Until next time!

“Best for solo trip”

This hostel is super friendly perfect place if you are solo travelling and want to meet people. The staffs were super friendly and they have a great WhatsApp group with lots of info and reco. The room was clean and it was nice to have curtain for privacy and I loved the outdoor shower.

Second time at Happy Hammocks, and I loved being back. The atmosphere created by the staff and reps is always world class. It’s a great environment for backpackers to socialise and create new friendships. Never a dull moment here with the variety of activities being ran by the team!

The volunteers here are so friendly and easily make it a social place in the evening to meet others. Both nights the Hostel went out for dinners. Free filtered water & towels provided

“Nice spot near the beach”

Only stayed here for one night but it was pleasant! Room is basic but well equipped, fan & aircon. Shower and toilet is outside which was pretty cool & beautiful! Staff were friendly & it felt quite social. An easy 10 min walk to Dikwella beach & 15 to Hiriketiya

Really good hostel. The rooms were clean, comfy, and I thought spacious for dorm rooms. I really enjoyed the social vibes - there were plenty of things organised by the hostel, like a family dinner and various nights out, and the pool table there is a big plus. The location is a bit away from the beach (10min walk or so), but that's great because it's away from the noisier busy parts of town.
