“A great stay :)”
We stayed here for four nights in February in a doublebed room. We arrived super early in the morning, but they let us drop our backpacks right away and use the showers and common areas, which was a great way to already relax before heading to the beach. The manager Sajini welcomed us with genuine warmth, patiently answered all our questions, shared tips for nearby restaurants and public transport, which made our onward travels a breeze. The hostel runs flawlessly—every staff member is friendly and attentive. Rooms are simple yet spotless, with working fans, large comfortable beds equipped with mosquito nets, and clean bathrooms and showers. The beach is just a 4 minutes walk away. A great stay :)

The most beautiful and comfy place I’ve ever been to. The accommodation is great located and super clean. The owner of the hostel is a super welcoming and friendly guy who tries to make sure that everyone has a great time there. He organises some cool events to bring the people together. The curry night is amazing. The best place!!

Wowww amazing place , with unbelivble vibes . The people very very very kinde and helpfull , aspecialy the owner amzing man , we made a friendship , i came just for 2 nights and stay for one week because of him . We go surf together , he took me to all the partys we hang out together and i got local prices because of him . Amazing amazing amazing . Sumee its the best 🙏❤️❤️

We had an amazing time at the hostel. Its very clean and the staff is very nice. It’s very closed to the beach and the WiFi is also good. We would always come back.

Amazing location 1 min from the beach staff are so helpful. Place is clean comfie beds with good chill area to relax and be social. Can cook and use kitchen and family dinners awesome local Curry's. They help with surf lesson or rent and bike rental can organize so easy. Been coming hiri many years my favorite place to stay

“Super gut!”
Loved My Stay at Lazy Monkey! Such a chill and welcoming place! I stayed at The Lazy Monkey for a few nights and honestly didn’t want to leave. The whole vibe is super relaxed, and it’s the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable. The rooms were spotless, simple but really well done. Everything worked perfectly, including the Wi-Fi (which isn’t always a given in Sri Lanka!). You can tell the place is run with care. Sumee, the owner, is just awesome. He’s always around, super friendly, and genuinely wants you to have a great time. He helped me out more than once with local advice and was always happy to chat or check in. One of my favorite things was the setting – surrounded by nature, really peaceful, but still just a short walk to the beach. It felt like a little retreat. There is also a nice Ayuwerda massage spa (Healing House) as well as a very cute café next door. Would 100% recommend this spot to anyone coming to Hiriketiya – especially if you want a laid-back, nature-filled stay with good energy.
