“Stunning cherry blossom viewing right in front of the hotel”

The hotel was located right in front of the cherry blossoms tress over the Castle moat. With them in full bloom, nothing can be more beautiful and pleasant. Highly recommend for cherry blossom viewing. The hotel restaurant serves great Omi beef cuisine.

Love the onsen and terrace bar that faces Hikone castle. Fabulously attentive and helpful staff - I was struggling to walk with their raised slippers that were too large for my feet and they quickly offered me 2 smaller pairs to try and choose from during dinner. I didn't even have to say anything!

The location is lovely, it's right across the castle and you can see the castle from the hotel which is really nice. You can see the castle from the onsen also which is a nice touch. I liked the onsen and the massage we got - the lady was excellent. The castle was really very lovely so this trip was worth it.

Service: all staff were gracious, kind, friendly. Free drinks were offered on beautiful space with terrace overlooking the lit-up grounds of Hikone Castle. We were also picked up from the station by the hotel shuttle bus Location: perfect, overlooking the moats of Hikone Castle, and nearby all restaurants, Castle Street, and the castle and gardens. Quiet and beautiful in November. A ten minute walk back to the station, which links directly with Kyoto (45 mins away on train) Breakfast: great variety of Japanese and western-style dishes, continually replenished, and absolutely delicious. First class cooking and presentation. We loved it. Rooms: mostly single rooms. Six of us stayed in a single room each. Clean, comfortable, spacious. Other: super onsen, with views to castle; spacious foyer, lobby, library and waiting areas, again with some superb artwork, objects and views; tremendous value-for-money. On check-out, we stored our luggage and stayed the day in Hikone before picking our bags up again, and we were very grateful for this free service. Summary: an excellent hotel operating to very high standards of hospitality. Perfect location in a lovely and historic town. We only stayed one night, but wished we had stayed more, and we would be delighted to return.

“A wonderful stay with beautiful night views of Hikone Castle”

The hotel had a quiet and elegant atmosphere, and it was wonderful. I especially enjoyed having the welcome drink while looking at Hikone Castle beautifully lit up at night. I only stayed for one night, but I would love to stay longer next time. The breakfast was also excellent and very satisfying.

Great comfort and great location. Wonderful idea to have the afternoon drinks served on the terrace facing the Hikone Castle.

Exceptional hotel opposite Hikone Castle. Staff were excellent and facilities were amazing. Beautiful onsen with a night view of the illuminated castle. Welcome drinks in nice lounge area and a great Japanese style breakfast.

Very clean, great you can hire a bike and explore. Their recommendation for dinner was cheap and the best Goza I’ve ever had. Parking was free too.

“Very nice spa resort, great location”

Great location close to station with view of Hikone castle from the public bath, terrace and lounge. Public bath was great, and you even got free drinks (ice tea, juice, beer, coffee) in the lounge afterwards. The hotel provides yukata for hotel use which was nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and included several local specialities for Hikone/Shiga area.

Right next to Hikone Castle and has a very good view of the castle in the hot spring bath. The staff were very professional.

The location was awesome close to and a view of the Castle! What more could you need. Room was comfortable and met my expectations. Was able to work at the desk without any issues. WiFi was good. They even offer complimentary drinks in the lounge. I arrived about an hour early and was able to check in right away and head to my room. Great hotel! Would definitely stay here again.

The location is outstanding. Next to the original Hikone castle. The people were extremely helpful and friendly. Nice free beer as part of stay and shuttle back to the train station. We didn’t have time to use the spa but looked nice. Always book the restaurant the day before you arrive.

Breakfast was outstanding. Impressive choice of dishes. Rooms were comfortable and the public bathing facility was just perfect, overlooking the castle view.

Lovely cosy hotel close to the castle entrance. Helpful staff,a free shuttle bus to the railway station and an onsen on site.
