“Relaxing quiet stay”

Loved this place very chilled, basically a private beach with seats outside, very nice rooms and sea view. The brothers were very kind and sorted out Landry that we needed done too. They recommended a great place A2 for dinner which we loved. It’s a short ride into the hubbub of Hikkaduwa but you can walk all the way along the beach to reach turtle beach ect. Beach bars close by it’s great for a quiet relaxing stay.

“Great place with nice rooms”

We had the family room with sea view and were very happy with it. In the room there is a lot of storage possibilities and the beds were very comfortable and not as hard as in other places in Sri Lanka. Bathroom was great and really big with good water pressure and hot water. We also had our laundry done directly in the hotel - it came back fast and nicely smelling 🙂 The owners were really nice and helpful while dealing with date changes caused by the current situation in the Gulf Region. Little supermarkets, a bakery, fruits & vegetable shops are near by. To Galle it‘s just a 25 min bus ride which is highly recommended. Great value for money and definitely worth a stay at Sailor‘s Bay

“Excellent stay, totally recommended!”

We spent 5 wonderful nights at Sailor's Bay in February 2026 and absolutely loved it! The property is managed by two brothers who are incredibly welcoming and attentive and they really made us feel at home. The location is right on the beach, with sun loungers available for guests to relax and enjoy the view. We had a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast several times, egg hoppers with onion and dahl curry, a fresh fruit plate, and fruit juice, and it was delicious every single time. They can also organize airport transfers and trips throughout Sri Lanka at very competitive prices, with comfortable, spacious cars. We would absolutely recommend Sailor's Bay, it's a gem!

Lovely low key hotel with relaxed vibe .. situated at the quiet end of Hikaduwa .. the beach was deserted . Lovely owners . Great restaurant ( Ember ) just down the beach ..

“Comfortable and on beautiful beach”

The owner Dilan lived two doors down and brought just the right mix of attentiveness without being intrusive. The hotel opens out onto a beautiful quiet beach which is the view we had for breakfast every morning. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Private shaded sun loungers were provided free of charge. Dilan was very helpful and informative and arranged a car for our onward journey. There is a fridge in the room amd a communal kitchen for guests’ use.

The family room on the ground floor is superbly located! There's no road noise at all. The host family is very customer-oriented, and any questions we had were resolved quickly. Guests can use the shared kitchen, which is fully equipped and very clean. The hosts' friendly dogs were a lovely addition, allowing the child to play with them. The hotel grounds and the adjacent beach are very clean and safe. The hotel itself is located in a quiet spot on a deserted beach; Hikka is a 6-minute tuk-tuk ride away, or a 15-minute walk along the beach. A couple of delicious restaurants, fruit shops, and a pharmacy are within walking distance. Thanks again to the hosts for their warm welcome!

Everything staff were very helpful, friendly and informative. Location was perfect right on the beach with sunbeds provided. We ordered the Sri Lanka breakfast which was delicious and plentiful would recommend trying. Room was spacious and clean ours had the balcony looking directly onto the beach and was so nice to sit out on in the morning and evenings. Highly recommend staying here, we will be back!

The accommodation location is amazing with a direct view on the beach including their own sun beds (not a commercial fully crowded beach). The room is big and specious. Personnel is really great.

“Relaxed Beach Stay”

Sailors Bay in Hikkaduwa feels more like an Airbnb than a hotel, which we absolutely loved. The host was extremely friendly, attentive, and respectful. The rooms are simple but have everything you need — a mosquito net over the bed, a small fridge, and a functional bathroom. In front of the room, there’s a little veranda with two chairs and a coffee table, and the beach is right in front of the property. There’s also a covered seating area where breakfast is served, and sunbeds with plenty of shade available directly on the beach. For dinner, we went to the restaurant A2, about a 10-minute walk away, which was recommended by the host and turned out to be a great choice. Arriving with a private vehicle is no problem — we parked our tuktuk right in front of the accommodation. Overall, we were very satisfied and found the value for money excellent. When we left, we were even given a fresh coconut to drink and received many helpful tips for the rest of our trip.

Everything, from the location - a step away from the sea, we literally had a delicious breakfast by the beach every morning - to the warming and very welcoming owners. Dylan and Sanuj were incredibly helpful throughout our stay and even organised taxis for us from different areas of Sri Lanka. Our couple of nights in Hikkaduwa was made magical by their brilliant hospitality - wish we could have stayed longer!
