“Perfect place to relax”

Highly recommend this cabin. The rooms are incredibly comfortable, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it the perfect place to unwind and relax. Watching the horses also makes the experience even more relaxing. It features well-equipped amenities that look after your every need. I would definitely stay here again!

“Something special…”

This place is something special. It allows you to feel the real vibe of the outbacks. Amazing to spot northern lights during winter, the idea of creating a dedicated little shop, provided by the owners, is something important considering that the first town (Hella, which is really small) is about 20 minutes driving away. The accommodation is cozy, welcoming, well kept and organized. It’s clear that Greta and Steinar put their own inside this project, with a enthusiasm and passion. Their horse ranch is right beside the cottages and they are cool in let you take a look of their work, by asking them in advance. Washing machine and dishwasher were really appreciated. We definitely enjoyed our time there!

“Perfectly designed cottages”

Spacious, well equipped and beautifully designed cottages. Everything is so well thought through you lack for nothing - even little things like olive oil, cotton earbuds, drying rack are provided - and there’s an external mini shop with food and beverages in a pinch. We cooked four meals here and had no difficulty whatsoever. Beds are comfortable and the table comfortably seats four for meals. View is gorgeous (even if not north facing as we hoped) and can be enjoyed from anywhere in the cabin. Greta was a great help when our luggage was lost by Iceland Air as well. Overall probably the best of the many self catered accommodations we’ve stayed at! If we return to Iceland we will stay here without a doubt. Highly recommended!

“Perfect stay”

Everything is perfect in the cabin. We love this accommodation the most. Best view and all Facilities provided. Only down moment is we are unable to view the horses. Perfect for star gazing at Night.

“Beautiful, cosy cottage”

The cottage overlooked a beautiful farm and field with floor to ceiling windows and one of the most beautiful sunrises. The cottage itself was comfortable, well equipped and cosy. We wished we could stay longer!

We had a perfect stay at Áskot. The cottage had a smart and beautiful design. The look out of the window was stunning. They even had a mini market for the most needed groceries on the premises. Greta and Einar also invited us to see their horses and the way they train them in their indoor pool. Lovely hosts with passion for nature.

One of the best stay of our Iceland trip this time. Very happy with everything, facilities included dishwasher, washing machine etc, made this place just like home, there are Chinese tea sets, Japanese Sake glasses, warm welcome to every nationality.

Very pretty, clean and well-equipped

Comfortable, quiet and cozy cottage with very nice hosts It's very rare for apartments to have a microwave and small cabin nearby with self-service grocery is a good idea. You're provided with a printed brochure that tells the story of Áskot Cottages, introduces you to the owners and explains how to use all the amenities - really nice. In the morning we were greeted by owners' cat, dog and puppy and it was a great company.
