It’s such a beautiful escape from city life. Toshiyoke and Chie’s life here feels just like Hakumei and Mikochi — peaceful, cosy, and full of small joys. The hosts are super friendly and welcoming, and even their funny-faced cat is absolutely adorable. We’d love to visit again!

The host provided guidance on how to use the facilities available. I appreciate the extra effort of the host personally instructing us on how to use the electronic locking system. An added feature in the form of a personally managed fireplace I had thought to be pretty cool as it was something I had no experience over and yet the hosts were able to instruct and manage us even if we were laymen. The accommodation itself was indeed superb but what made the experience exceptional was the service we received; constant and consistent communication, a warm welcome in the form of organic vegetables and surprise treats in the fridge, and 24/7 on call service. It was plainly nothing I had ever experienced elsewhere.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated with the most incredible level of generosity. Fresh vegetables, homemade sweets—yes, homemade! The hosts are the kind of people you meet once in a lifetime and wonder how anyone could be this kind… And the valley? It’s like someone took all the peace and quiet they could find and put it in a jar for you to open at will. Gentle walks along the countryside, where the only sound is the breeze rustling through the trees. It’s the kind of place that makes you forget your phone exists. Then there’s the kitchen. It’s small but so well-equipped, it made me feel like I was about to prepare a Michelin-starred meal for my partner and I every night. The accommodation itself is, unsurprisingly, just as perfect—a warm, inviting space that felt less like a place to sleep and more like a place where the universe itself was telling us to slow down, take a breath, and enjoy the moment. This place is exactly why travel is worth doing. It’s one of those rare moments where you wander off the beaten path and stumble upon something so unexpectedly wonderful that it makes the entire trip feel like a hidden treasure. Trust me—leave the guidebook at home and find this place. You’ll thank me later.

Toshiyuki and Chie were wonderful hosts. They gave us a very warm welcome, delicious homemade cake and vegetables from their garden. The furnishings of the house are beautiful and modern. It is very picturesque. We would have liked to stay there longer and definitely want to come back.

Place was very clean and beautiful. Host couple was very friendly and hospitable. I highly recommend this place to everyone. The environment is full of nature and relaxing. Would have wanted to stay one more night but it was unfortunately sold out already.

The host couple was extremely hospitable and welcoming. They went above and beyond for us, taking our luggage up the hill and leaving fresh farm picked vegetables and home made chocolate cake for us to enjoy. I highly recommend this stay to anyone coming to Okayama! Its a great get away from the city and a beautiful little home.
