“A perfect place to relax and unwind or equally use as a base to visit the surrounding attractions”
The view was absolutely stunning and a real treat to wake up to every day. A perfect place to relax and unwind or equally use as a base to visit the surrounding attractions - on that note really glad we decided to stay here rather than in the busier Ella which is still very easily accessible for a day trip. The photos actually do not do the rooms and facilities justice. Beds were comfortable, and the rooms clean and homey.

Beautiful location, very clean, great service. Great facilities such as a swimming pool and hot tub. Hospitality of the host was excellent. Also good for kids as there are various board games in the house.

During our trip to Sri Lanka, this was the best stay we had. From the very beginning Muni & team have taken care of us and have helped during sickness with extra care by arranging doctor, vehicle, food and everything. Not to mention the amazing view and calm location connected with nature. Also, we admire the architecture design & interior of villa with attention to every detail. Food was the best and delicious, resembling Sri Lankan traditional cuisine. Thank you Muni for taking care of us! 😊 Also, thank you to the whole team for ensuring a comfortable stay. “Peaceful haven”
The exceptional stylish and comfortable accommodation and beautiful gardens complimented the stunning views to Horton Plains NP , Udawalawe reservoir and the south coast . You awake each morning to the sound of birds while during the day it is so peaceful and relaxing . Thankfully no aircon needed here since the very fine insect screens allowed windows to be open to enjoy the fresh mountain air. We stayed in the deluxe suite downstairs which now has an additional dining area , and there are 3 lovely rooms upstairs . See the gorgeous pictures online . You can take a dip in the lovely pool or the owner Munira can suggest and help arrange other activities in the surrounding areas. Having driven for 5 weeks, this was a perfect spot to unwind . It was lovely to chat with Muni who built this wonderful property and all the staff who extended friendly and caring hospitality . Our best stay in Sri Lanka . Thank you Muni!

“Great nature escape with incredible views!”
Beautiful house at remote location in the mountains. This is the perfect place for everyone who is looking for a quite place surrounded by nature. Munira is the nicest host and all the staff is amazing. We had breakfast and dinner at the house and it was always very delicious! Highly recommended!

We had the most perfect two nights at Hapu Tales. Muni goes above and beyond as a host, and her team put so much effort into making it a relaxing and comfortable place to stay; every detail has been thought of and the team were so helpful and friendly, we really felt like we were staying with friends. We had all of our meals in and the food was brilliant, authentic Sri Lankan cuisine with lots of flavour. The location is brilliant for exploring the beautiful surrounding sites but definitely make sure you stay long enough to take the time to relax by the pool or on the terrace with the breathtaking views. We stayed two nights and were sad to leave - it’s the perfect place to recharge and relax.

The beautiful Tranquil location. Immaculately kept villa and gardens. Smiling, gentle staff. Warm and very personal reception from Munira. Delicious breakfast served out on the terrace soaking up the glorious views. Could easily have stayed longer
