Our experience at Paradise Sunset Bungalows was extremely disappointing due to misleading advertising and poor treatment by management. We booked what was listed as a “Bungalow” or “Family Room” at a higher price than similar options on the island because it advertised amenities like a private fridge, minibar, patio, BBQ, terrace, and washer/dryer. The photos also showed a beautiful private bungalow. After paying upon arrival, we were taken to a small room above a building with a hostel-style setup: shared fridge, shared patio, shared BBQ—everything was shared. None of the advertised private amenities existed. When we raised this issue the next morning, reception said it was out of their control. After multiple attempts to contact management, we finally spoke to someone who responded by raising their voice and blaming us, saying we should have known those amenities couldn’t fit in the room. They then offered to move us to a real bungalow for an additional $120 USD. We reluctantly agreed and paid, only to be placed in an apartment instead, as they claimed the bungalows were no longer available—after taking our money. The apartment had a strong sewage smell in the bathroom and common areas, suggesting plumbing issues. To make matters worse, we rented a scooter at 4pm and returned it the following day at checkout, yet were charged for two full days because they count the night as part of a 24-hour period—this was never clearly explained. Overall, this place is misleading, poorly managed, and not worth the price. There are many more honest and affordable options on Easter Island. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

“Cosy and close to the sea”

Amazing location , incredible sunset and sunrise , super cosy bungalows and a lovely breakfast. The manager ist the most helpful lady you can imagine . She will help you make the best out of your stay in Rapa Nui . Great value for money without a doubt .

Great location by the sea. Pick up from airport. Breakfast in the cafe at the end of the drive. Very helpful host (but you need to speak Spanish really).

I honestly could not have asked for more than what this place gave me. What an incredible location, what amazing staff (thank you so much for the lift to and from the airport) and what a great initiative to make a deal with the neighbouring restaurant to give your guests free and very tasty breakfasts overlooking the Pacific to start off the day. This is the kind of place where you walk in after an amazing day on this fascinating island and think I am so glad I am staying here.

Lovely bungalows in an excellent location. Breakfast at the cafe next door was amazing and they were happy to let us edit options for me as a vegetarian. Bed was very comfortable, and lovely to have a hammock outside!

Situated across from the water and has a lovely restaurant to watch the sunset. Near to many restaurants and a short walk to shops. The owner went above and beyond to organize tours for us.
