It’s a charming place tucked away in a lovely, productive garden. Good privacy but still with a neighbourhood vibe. We settled in quickly and enjoyed sitting out on the deck surrounded by tropical plants. Attentive and generous hosts with good local knowledge and contacts. We had a car which we were able to park conveniently at the front of the main property. Couple of small local stores close by for basic shopping.

Had everything we needed, nice place, lovely garden and patio. Very friendly and helpful host. Nothing too much trouble, even give us lemons, avocados, bananas and eggs from the garden and their hens 👌

“Beautiful stay on Rapa Nui”

Marcia and Francisco were absolutely amazing. They couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Great communication and helped us get the required documents to enter the island. Also provided some great tour companies and car hire companies on the island. The accommodation was a beautiful house set in a lovely garden with lots of local fruits provided on check in.

“Beautiful house with wonderful hosts”

This beautiful house nestled behind our hosts home is surrounded by the most beautiful garden. It is private and has a wonderful terrace to enjoy the view. 10 minutes walk from town but also a restaurant just around the corner with a beautiful view of the sunset. Our hosts were wonderful and made sure we felt very welcome. If you wish to self cater there is a couple of local stores one minute walk away. Perfect location for a getaway and privacy whilst also within strolling distance of restaurants, bars and sites.

An incredibly beautiful and authentic place in Hanga Roa. We’re so grateful for our stay, we truly appreciated the relaxed vibe and laid-back lifestyle of the island. Our hosts, Marcia and Francisco, were absolutely wonderful. They welcomed us warmly, gave us great tips before our arrival to help us prepare for the trip, picked us up at the airport, and even left us fresh fruit as a welcome gift. Nestled in Francisco’s lush, lovingly maintained garden, there’s a hand-built wooden cabana that adds so much charm. The cabana is beautifully decorated with warm colours, with an authentic style that blends perfectly with the natural surroundings. The garden itself is pure magic: private, peaceful, and full of life. You can sit on the terrace, feel the breeze, and just disconnect from the world. The only sounds are rustling palm leaves and distant roosters. Just PERFECT. ✨ P.S. We later found out that Francisco has contributed to the restoration of some Ahu sites and is a descendant of the island’s original population — an honor to have stayed in a place with such deep roots and cultural significance. We couldn’t be happier and we hope to come back.

“Perfect and unforgettable time on Easter Island!”

Marcia and Francisco are the BEST hosts. From the friendly airport pick up with flower necklace to the accommodation, everything is PERFECT!!!! Well exceed expectations! Their cabana is a nature paradise! Full of fruit trees and flowers. The garden is beautiful and interior of the cabana is tastefully decorated with local arts. Marcia is so kind and goes through the facility with me. She treats you like family, always welcome you with smiles and brings over fresh fruits and eggs. Thanks to Marcia, she found me two amazing guides for hiking and moai tours. She reached out to me well in advance with good information to ensure smooth entry onto Easter Island and national park. She makes my birthday trip extra special & memorable - She got me birthday cake, sang happy birthday with traditional Rapa Nui musical instrument and gifts! The cabana is tranquil & serene, but still within comfortable walking distance to city center. Staying at Cabana Vaenga Miro, I can get a good sense how local islanders live.
