“Fantastic combo car and location”

Great location in close proximity to Echoland and Happo. Made even easier with use of the car, John was super accomodating and helpful with any questions or requests we had. We stayed here for 11 days it was a great base for a ski holiday. Will definitely be returning again soon.

“One of the best family holidays yet!!”

We had a really great stay at Ryders House. Jon and Yuki have created a wonderful space which is warm and cosy, and as hosts they are so accommodating. It was so nice to have Jon pick us up from the bus station and take us to the house where we had everything we needed including washing machine, dryer, well equipped kitchen plus the use of a car!! Although the Main Street of town is only a short walk away, the car was a huge bonus for our family to get around town and to the mountain. Not having to wait in line for the shuttle bus was so great- especially with impatient teenagers. Yuki and Jon also went above and beyond at the end of our stay and helped us navigate the best trains to get to Kyoto then, to top it off Jon drove us all the way to Omachi so we could get to Kyoto easier. Honestly, we can’t fault our stay. We highly recommend Ryders House and hope to get back there again soon.

Ryder’s House was perfect for our family of 4, close to Echoland and with the use of the car every hill beckons. No buses or lines. The owner Jon was awesome, from picking us up and dropping us off to the bus. Nothing was a problem, he was a great help with everything Hakuba🏂☃️ Thank You

“Comfortable stay & car a brilliant bonus.”

Really nicely renovated house. The car is a a great addition to get up and down the valley and not be reliant on buses! Great for up to 4 people. Comfy beds, good shower and kitchen facilities.

Was compact but ample for a family of 4. The use of the car was handy, allowing access to all the resorts without relying on the free shuttle buses.

“Super stay and friendly host”

I could not recommend more on Ryder's house. This is a cozy house situated in the heart location. The best thing is the host Jon providing an extremely welcoming service. He picked us to/from Hakuba station, and removed the heavy snow when we were out enjoying the mountain during the day. The use of the 4-wheel drive car is awesome and so convenient to commute in town, especially when in bad weather and getting a taxi has a line up. Nothing need to change, and I will definitely stay when I come back.

Jon was such a helpful host. He made us feel very welcome and had some great tips for our stay in Hakuba. The house was perfect, very clean and had all the amenities we needed for cooking, and washing clothes etc. in a great location, a short walk to the shuttle bus, and less than 10 mins into the Main Street with lots of restaurants etc.

Cozy accommodation with everything you need to enjoy a ski holiday, situated in a quiet area but walking distance (ski boots walking distance) from several shuttle stops to the resorts. Jon was super helpful and responsive to all our needs!
