Absolutely loved staying here for 3 nights. Although the room was small, you get what you paid for and it was extremely cosy and comfortable! The hosts were extremely friendly, accomodating and their service was top notch. They even drove us to escal plaza to save us the trouble of walking there with our luggages. This was really a very pleasant stay, and super affordable!

The staff were amazing. As a special favour, we were collected by car from the bus terminal that was not normally on the shuttle route for the hostel. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. We needed help organising transport down to Nagano the manager, Niki, spent time exploring options for us online. A big thank you to Melevan, Taka and Niki for making our stay such a great experience. Will definitely stay here again!

Location was excellent. Easy walk to/from Goryo Escalator plaza and many dining options. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very clean.

Really clean, spacious kitchen and sufficient sauce for cooking. The host couple are all really good at English(of course I should learn Japanese better) and really really helpful, finally they even offered us a drive upon departure.

Great place definitly would recommend to family or solo traveller. Place is confy and great to rest after a good day in the snow. The owner was just great, he helped me with an issue with my card

Toshi and Megumi were super friendly and helpful in providing recommendations for restaurants, discounts for ski passes and rentals and helped organise snowboarding lessons. Great location 10 minutes walk from Goryu Escal Plaza with a range of restaurants nearby.

“Perfect base for exploring Hakuba”

The place is 10 minute walk from the Goryu ski lift and 10 minutes away from the bus station taking you to Tokyo and other resorts in the valley. Owners are really amazing. They are so patient with foreign guests and explain Japanese ways of living. They also offered me a lift to the bus station which was really sweet. The living room is really warm and inviting to hang out. The view from it is really picturesque. The surrounding area is quaint

Ks House was far better than we had anticipated given its description as a hostel. We stayed in a twin room with ensuite attached for 4 nights, which was a pretty good size, there was a small TV and a little table with 2 chairs which made the room more cramped. Linen and towels were provided. Bedrooms located upstairs and the common area is downstairs - this area really is cozy, with some couches, tables and chairs (western or Japanese option), and floor to ceiling windows that wrap around giving you a stunning view of the outside. The shared kitchen was never too crowded and was always in a clean state. The staff are what make this stay great. Toshi (hope I spelled this right) seemed like he was always around to answer questions or give advice. It really had a homely feeling. The drying room was small but they solved this issue by having gear (skis, boards, boots) downstairs and clothing (helmets, gloves, jackets, pants) on drying on racks on the 2nd floor. In terms of location, in winter, there was a free shuttle that picked you up just on the corner of the street and took you to Goryu Mountain- from there the other main busses can take you to the other mountains. We walked once, and although mostly an uphill climb with gear, it only took 15 minutes. There are a few restaurant options within walking distance as well and did not feel the need to get a taxi anywhere. The longest walk is to the 7/11 (15mins). Very convenient location.

This was only a 10 minute walk to the ski field and the hosts were so helpful with giving us information on buses or taxis or restaurants to dine at.
