“A haven in Hakone! Calm, beautiful and a memorable stay”

The owner is a lovely lady with a charming little dog called Cuchan. It is a very clean and traditional property full of character with a calm energy about it. I highly recommend at least 1 night here as you won’t want to leave! They have a private onsen too where you can book an hour slot. Breakfast was tasty too and the grounds are tranquil.

“Magical hideaway with onsen that surprised us all”

The stern outside of the facility hides a magical secret garden and facility. The onsen was beautifully appointed and we were given an hour just for us as a family. I went there with my young daughter and we got to sit in the hot water in the dim light with the window open to a beautiful small enclosed garden. The room was perfect and my children loved the snug loft with the fairy lights. The beds were comfertable and we slept great. The breakfast was really tasty - especially the French toast. The host gave us some great recommendations and the sushi place just down the road was our favourite out of the whole trip. Absolutely perfect stay.

very spacial place with great common area with lot of activities, specially if you are into music. Breakfast is great - toast with special topping , but when I asked for plain toast for kids, they did not wont to do it. good onsen

“Excellent stay in beautiful Hakone!”

Glorious location. Very close to transport links and Gora is about 20min walk away. The breakfast was amazing. We did the best hike of our whole trip thanks to the recommendation we received from front desk (Mount Ashigara trek)🤩 seeing Mt Fuji in all its glory was well worth it and the mountain cafe at the top was so memorable with fabulous udon noodles. The in-house private onsen was brilliant and appreciated after long trekking days. Overall we loved our stay :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Hakone Mori No Yado. The gueshouse is conveniently located 1 min from a bus stop and just a 20 min walk from Gora. We really enjoyed the privare onsen every evening. The rooms are very nice, clean and spacious.

“Relaxing escape from the cities”

The hotel is really nice and comfortable. We loved the private onsen, which has very relaxing vibe. Breakfast was delicious, freshly prepared and different every day. The owners are lovely and very helpful :). Room was comfortable - loved the loft! The location is great - next to a bus station with regular buses, would recommend having hakone free pass.

Private onsen is top, rooms are clean a breakfast is tasty.

“Pleasant place to stay to experience Japanese daily life!”

The property was close to the local bus which linked to the regional bus station and tourist attractions. It was pretty and had a private onsen. Choice of places to eat nearby. Good amenities.

I cannot speak more highly of the couple who run this place - they truly went above and beyond for us. The room we stayed in was well sized, clean and comfortable. The private onsen was beautiful and a really nice part of our trip.

“Perfect peaceful relaxing quiet place”

This is an excellent place to stay to explore hakone. It is right next to the bus stop so very easy to get to. Located a beautiful 20 minutes walk or a very short bus ride from one of the main train stations to explore hakone. The house itself is newly refurbished and very tastefully decorated. It is truly a beautiful space with an amazing garden and small waterfall and river at the back. When the windows are closed you can't hear anything outside. The lady who owns it is just amazing - so lovely and helpful - she went way above and beyond for me and I really appreciated it. Her husband was really friendly and easy to talk to as well. I stayed for 2 nights, but it was so peaceful and lovely I wish i'd stayed longer. If you are going there, the bus costs almost 1000 yen from the main train station from shinjuku so would recommend buying the free hakone pass at the beginning - if you're getting the gondola and boat it will be worth it anyway

Relaxing onsen, peaceful location, pretty garden, yummy breakfasts, nearby local indoor swimming pool, family friendly, bus stop very close, nice helpful staff.

Highly recommended if you are going to stay in Hakone! We had a very nice stay. The host was very nice and caring. The breakfast was also very good😊

nice room and location in the nature. Nice little private onsen. Good breakfast. Host is friendly. Only negative note the location is hard to reach, not many restaurants/places to eat around (only combine) and considering everything, maybe a bit expensive (but I guess it's Hakone price).
