“Overall very good”

The resort has a quiet, eco-friendly atmosphere surrounded by greenery, which made it very relaxing. The rooms were simple but clean and comfortable, designed more like cabanas than a luxury hotel. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful throughout the stay, always willing to assist when needed.

“Enchanting”

We loved this place, the staff where absolutely amazing Hirushi, Dilki, Sewmini, Nethsara & Lakshan, food delicious, its beautiful, peaceful, location perfect to visit the surroundings and they recommend a car/guide/ knowledgeable man call Charith from Chartith tours that will pick you up from the airport and take you everywhere.

“Lovely place - I'd definitely return”

This was a delightful room in a beautiful setting. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and breakfast portions were generous (enough for two people!). Staff communicate with you via WhatsApp so you don't have to run to reception. Food is available onsite if you don't wish to go into town.

“Lovely stay in Habarana”

The rooms were excellent- spacious, comfortable beds, good air con. Interesting design. Lovely when the monkeys played on the roofs and when it rained. Good breakfast particularly the musli and honey. Great spot for travelling to other places. Hotel were great at organising the taxis.

“Kind and professional staff”

Sadly Cyclone Ditwah meant that there was no transport available for us to get to Habarana so we never got to see the resort. I’m giving the 5 * rating for the kindness and professionalism of the staff in dealing with the short notice cancellation that I had to make. We are hoping to return to Sri Lanka in 2026 to see the parts that we missed on our November 2025 trip

The food was really lovely as were the staff. The safari arranged by the hotel was incredible.

“Idyllic & Unforgettable”

Very unique accommodation! Loved staying here last month. Amazing & helpful staff, great breakfast - perfect location for visiting Sigiriya. Some brilliant restaurants within walking distance.

Breakfast was very good, but unfortunately, dinner was very poor. There were lizards crawling around in our room. This may be normal for the area, but not for us. We would have slept a little more comfortably if the beds had mosquito nets. We got a massage at the massage parlor next door, which was very comfortable and clean. Design of the room and garden awesome.

“A great place to relax in nature”

A great place to be alone with nature, while still having all the amenities. Everything is modern and comfortable. The staff is friendly, and they made our stay very enjoyable. We were really happy to stay at this hotel, to feel the connection with nature, and swim in the pool surrounded by trees.

Unforgettable stay in the jungle Staying here was a truly unique experience. The property is set in the middle of the jungle, with only five stylish wooden cabins, each designed with an incredible eye for detail. The interiors are modern yet cozy, and you immediately feel at home while enjoying a mix of comfort and luxury. The open-air bathroom was stunning — beautifully lit, spacious, and with an amazing shower that felt like a little sanctuary in itself. The room itself was perfectly decorated, with a super comfortable bed, quality furniture, and strong air conditioning. Each cabin also has its own little terrace, and in the middle of the property there’s a lovely pool, perfect for a lazy afternoon. The location is ideal if you want to disconnect but still be close to the highlights of the area: safaris in Minneriya or Kaudulla National Parks, and day trips to Sigiriya, Dambulla, or Polonnaruwa. What really makes this place special is the incredible team. From the warm welcome to every interaction during my stay, they made sure I felt taken care of. I had some great conversations with them, and they were always attentive to anything I needed. Huge thanks to Dilki, Lakshan, Hiru TV and the rest of the staff 🙏 The food was excellent, cooked by chef Lakshan — just note that prices are closer to European standards. The included breakfast, though, was outstanding. A place I’d definitely recommend and one I’m sure I’ll return to.

“We had a wonderful 4nights. Enjoyed our spa treatment”

I loved the jungle cabin feel with air con and wifi etc. The staff could not have been more attentive and polite. The gardens were maintained. The meals were great.

Gabaa Resort in Habarana is set in a beautiful garden with lovely chalets and a nice swimming pool. We really enjoyed our stay. However, the buffet breakfast was a little underwhelming, although there are some excellent restaurants within walking distance. Some in-room or tourist information would also be a welcome addition. That said, the tranquil setting and overall comfort made it a pleasant stay.

Rooms with modern and neat design, very pleasant to the eye. Friendly staff available for any advise, all very passionate. Good dinner and breakfast options.

“Idyllic”

We had a fabulous stay at Gabaa. The place was idyllic. There are, I believe, 6 ‘villas’. The staff are very young, but extremely efficient and very caring. We opted for a Sri Lankan breakfast and it was delicious. The location is perfect for visiting a number of important places. Incredible value for money.
