“Delightful”
The hostess was great and very accommodating and cooked us a typical Spanish meal. It was very atmospheric eating in the dining area with balconies onto the main square and church. Parking very safe and secure and totally quiet outside throughout the night. The hostess organised a private tour of the 14c church, which was really amazing. Lots of local bodegas and a great experience immersing ourselves in Spanish life; as all people young and old gather here. The Palacio itself is 17c and a former home of a Bishop.

“Wonderfully warm welcome to a stunning historic property from Helena and her community.”
Helena was the most fantastic host; preparing a delicious breakfast, a wonderful regional speciality for dinner; and explaining the history of the property and village. The property is managed by the community as a bar, restaurant, hostal and hub. It had such a warm feeling about it. I will certainly book again.

“A truly outstanding stay with friendly and helpful staff in a charming, historic property.”
We were particularly impressed by the friendliness and warm welcome from the manager who also handled the restaurant. Our superb delicious meals were served in the very spacious library with views of the village, its church and the surrounding countryside. The room was spacious (3 rooms essentially) and well furnished and equipped.

“Great host”
Helena was welcoming, helpful and friendly and took the time to explain where things were. Dog friendly hotel with large room, low beams in quiet village striking distance to bodegas and Penafiel.

Charming accommodation with much character, and history in a picturesque setting. Comfortable, clean and pleasant accommodation with complementary refreshments on arrival. Very friendly hostess - Helena made sure we had all we needed and took the time to answer our many questions about the history of the place and village. Very good WiFi connection. Healthy breakfast with wildflower honey, toasts, plenty of fruit juice, hot drink and a good selection of fruits. Would highly recommend the whole experience!

“Quiet and peaceful”
The hotel is nicely situated in a small and quiet village. The building is in very good condition. Like new even. The staff is very friendly. I especially liked Helena. She is a young lady who is warm, kind and helpful. A magnificent hostess.
