Cabañas Alta Mar is very close to the beach, actually right on the beach which is wonderful. There are a few different cabins but we got the one which has a comfortable kind sized bed and moscito net around it. If you don't mind a simple place to stay not too far from the center of Chacahua but far enough to have peace and quiet, Cabañas Alta Mar is your place. The whole place grows on you eventually. We liked it a lot and would stay there again. :)

“Beautiful beachfront location run by a lovely family.”

Beautiful spot right on the beach overlooking the surf break. Clean and well maintained communal areas with shade and hammocks. Our room was cleaned every three days and we got given an extra fan when we asked for one. Cabanas aren’t big but are comfortable with everything we needed. The family that run the place are lovely. Hot and cold water are provided.

“Beachfront paradise”

We absolutely loved our stay here. Paying extra for the beach front cabana is totally worth it! Waking up to the ocean was magic, so few places you can enjoy such untouched nature. The beds were comfy, pillows good, everything was clean and the grounds well kept. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Beds comfy, towels good but I wouldn’t return to this place when I go to Chacahua.

Loved every second of this stay. The whole Chacahua is a vibe. Please be aware it’s a nature reserve here and pick up plastic from the beach / don’t leave anything unnessecary here. The inhabitants won’t tell you to do so, so please use your own common sense. But now about the Cabanas – cute little houses, with an own bathroom. We had everything we needed. In January it was nice and chill at night. We had a Cabana with the view to the courtyard and felt good! Right next to this place you can watch baby turtles being released every evening. On the left there is a café „SwedishRebel“ with two lovely sisters from Sweden, nicer coffee, brownie, banana bread, you name it and also events, like dj workshops, ice bathing + workout and partys. Every Friday evening there is a pizza party event on a place at the beach. Luckily this accommodation is a bit away from the party, so its your decision to either join or spent a quite evening, watching the stars. The Family who is doing the Cabana Alta Mar is nice and relaxed. There is always someone around and we felt very safe, on the whole place in general. Surf was nice, we rented boards at Surf House, only some minutes down the beach by foot. Don’t bring too heavy bags as you probably have to carry them in the hot sun when arriving in this paradise by boat. Honestly if I every write a book I would come back, just surf either in the morning or evening, doing a bit of yoga, stretching, watching sunrises and working during siesta / the hot time of the day, where it’s even hard to walk barefoot on the beach sometimes. Anyways, enjoy, this is the perfect place to do so!

Great little place to stay , right on the beach, you can reach it on foot via walking along the beach from where the boats drop you off. They also provide drinking water facilities at the cabins. No air con but fan is provided in rooms. We loved it and would totally return

Fantastic location, beautiful view on the balcony from the sea-view Cabañas! Very comfortable lounge chairs that guests were able to use. Staff very friendly and proactive about cleaning our cabaña!

The location is great it’s quiet and a 5 min walk to town or the break.

The staff were lovely and drove us to the centre of town with our bags upon checkout and organised the colectivo for us. The room was spacious and clean and it is right on the beachfront.
