Beautiful old house, very comfortable room, lovely hosts

The hotel was super clean. The lady at the front desk was very nice and kind. She even woke up at 4.00am to make my breakfast. The hotel itself is very charming. It is located in historical centre and it is like an old colonial building. I had a very positive experience. I can recommend this to everyone.

This is a beautiful old house which has been carefully maintained and updated with first rate bathrooms. Staff were so helpful, staying up very late to welcome us when our bus was hugely delayed. The gardens are very pretty and the downstairs rooms are available to use too.

Very good location, 15 min the cathedral. Nice rooms with beautiful garden. Clean. Super breakfast.

Very nice and quiet room on the back side overlooking the garden with a really comfortable bed. Breakfast was good, staff very nice and the house itself is a gem. Located well some blocks from the main pedestrian street and the Palacio Nacional.

The building is exrtraordinary: it's a small villa with the air of the bygone times. The room was feeling a bit like a royal aplartment. The location is conveniently 5 min from the busy 6th Anenue

The building has plenty of charm with its old fireplaces and spacious rooms. We booked the large double room, as it was the same price as a regular double, and really enjoyed the extra space. The mattress felt a little lumpy and could probably do with being replaced. The WiFi was not good in the room. There’s no AC, but a fan is provided, along with drinking water in the room. The bathroom was a great size, modern, and had excellent hot water and strong water pressure. Breakfast was a typical local style, served with both coffee and juice. There was some traffic noise, but much less than expected. The location is just a few blocks from the main walking street, lined with beautiful buildings and interesting shops.

Sophie the GM arranged for a pickup from the airport and for Jessica to welcome us past the check in time. Communication was fantastic from her :) Also Jessica welcomed us and made the most delicious breakfast

I was very excited about staying at Casa Carmel after reading so many great reviews. I thought it would be a great place to end my travels with my mum in Guatemala, after three weeks of seeing the country. The place is spacious and clean place, beautiful decor and traditional colonial style. Big rooms, beds and bathroom. Sophie was very helpful before our arrival, so I expected maybe a warmer welcome. It was fine, the lady working there gaves us a very quick tour of the house, but didn't really give us much information. A bit of a weird vibe, seemed we were the only ones there.

Beautiful hotel in a historic building - especially nice ambiente from the inside, including a little patio to relax in after exploring Guatemala. A small but delicious breakfast is served in the morning. The center of zona 1 is within walking distance and during the day we felt safe. (Can't say anything about the safety at night as we didn't go out after dark.) The host was friendly and helpful and organized a taxi to an from the airport for us.
