Very nice accommodation in the beautiful barrio de las cuevas, we were just passing by but it has everything you need for a longer stay. Señora Maria was very friendly. If you're looking for a place far from the city noise and lights and near the wonderful Taberna desert, this is it!

“You need to read term and condition otherwise you pay extra or you will never get the key”
The host was unfriendly. We booked a room with a child and forgot to select the age of our son. We asked if we could pay the same as an adult because he is older than 3 years, which was never mentioned anywhere. Even worse was the check-in policy. You are required to check in at 20:00, and if you don’t pay the extra, they will not let you in. In standard international practice, check-in is usually between 15:00 and 23:00, but not at this place. Glad her mother came to inspect the place and she was much friendly

Very unique setting, Guadix is amazing. The cave house is lovely, with everything that we needed. Best night sleep in a long time, it is so quiet and peaceful with a perfect temperature.

“Fantastic stay in Cave House”
The cueva was in a great location away from the hustle and bustle of the town, yet close enough to walk to all the sights. It was exciting to stay in this cute accommodation. It had a functioning kitchen and washing machine, particularly important to our Camino trip.

Wonderful Stay at Cuevas de María – A Unique Experience! Staying at Cuevas de María in Guadix was good! The cave house offered the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The interiors were cozy, beautifully designed, and kept naturally cool — ideal for escaping the heat. The space was clean, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was fantastic, providing a serene and authentic experience while still being close to Guadix's main attractions. Waking up to stunning views of the surrounding landscape from the mirador was a dream. Our host was incredibly welcoming, offering helpful recommendations about the area and ensuring we felt right at home. It's clear they take great pride in maintaining this unique property and making guests happy. If you're looking for a memorable and authentic Andalusian experience, Cuevas de María is a must-visit. “Authentic troglodyte experience!”
Fabulous and authentic experience of living in the cave neighbourhood of Guadix, apparently currently the area with the most troglodytes in Europe. Parking is convenient. We chose to walk into town, which took about 20 minutes through interesting areas. There’s a good lookout very close to the cave. Access to the key required phoning Maria, and despite having limited Spanish we managed to find each other!

Only found this town by chance and so glad we did. Very interesting old part of town with their cave houses. We loved our stay in María’s Cueva (cave) and it was great. Complete with 3 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom in a neat little cave house. Maria is the perfect host so lovely, friendly and inviting and made our stay unforgettable. Thank you Maria we will be back and let all our friends know of our great find.

“A cave house what an experience on our road trip back to Los Boliches... Malaga...”
The property was a cave house what an experience, the bedrooms and living room where so cool when the temperature's where hitting the high 30s. The host was so friendly and bubbly you just had to love her. A bar down the road was good value with a menu of the day 3 courses 11.95€. The wifi was excellent, The town had every thing you would need a 5 minute drive away, The cave village had a museum well worth a look around, The cave house had everything you needed out side terrace with seating we liked it so much we stayed another night so we spent 3 nights there and would have stayed longer.....

“Great rates for a unique stay in a cool little town!”
It was pretty nice to meet Maria, she is pretty good. Pretty nice, pretty smiley :) and pretty friendly- she even kiss us to say goodbye! Was pretty nice! Was fun to sleep in a cave for a night and being so close to a great viewpoint of this very unique, beautiful town was a nice surprise!
