Overview
Set on a farm 8 km from Grundarfjördur, this modern guest house offers a 9-hole golf course, plus free Wi-Fi and parking. Snæfellsjökull National Park is 40 minutes’ drive away. Sudur-Bár Guesthouse’s bright, simple rooms have either a private bathroom with shower or an in-room wash basin and separate shared bathroom. Studios with kitchenettes and TVs are also available. Guesthouse Sudur-Bár’s breakfast buffet can be enjoyed before setting out for Stykkishólmur, 40 km away. From there, the Baldur ferry departs for the Westfjords and Flatey island.

* We reserved a room with private bathroom and which was located in a nice wooden house next to the main building with a very nice view * We could have breakfast at 7:30h (instead of 8:00h) because we needed to leave early in order to catch our ferry

The breakfast was really nice with beautiful view of Kirkjufell. Loved the mugs! 😍 And extra credit goes to the friendly staff. We forgot our backpack but the host found it, and delivered it to us in Reyjkjavik. That is really something above and beyond any expectations.

“Outstanding place!”
This was our final stop after touring the island and it was by far our favorite place! Breath-taking view as we stayed in apartment 1, we had a direct ocean view with Kirkjufell. It included everything we needed. Fantastic hosts, as well! Can only recommend.

“Lovely place”
I loved this property! Located in a quiet area with an amazing view of Kirkjufell Mountain, the room was very clean and had a comfortable bed. We enjoyed a fresh and delicious breakfast. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a restful night's stay.

View was outstanding, as was the breakfast. Our host offered us a cup of tea on arrival and was happy to engage us in general chit chat. The view from the bedroom offered us a chance to watch the sunset over the sea and from the breakfast room there is a panoramic view of the mountains and sea.
