“Peaceful and Spotless Stay with Wonderful Hosts”
I had a really great experience staying at Apartments Sterna. From the moment I arrived, the hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. They made sure everything was in order and were always available in case I needed anything, which made me feel well taken care of throughout my stay. The apartment itself was exceptionally clean, equipped, and comfortable — everything looked exactly as shown in the photos. I especially appreciated the quiet surroundings, which made it easy to relax and enjoy some peaceful downtime. It’s a perfect place if you're looking to unwind in a calm and tidy environment. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would be happy to return in the future. Highly recommended!

“Perfect summer getaway”
This is a beautiful family-run apartment. The owners infused every bit of the property with soul and creativity, from the little fish pond with lotus flowers, to the refreshing pool area. The apartment itself (the larger of the two available on site) was perfect for our family - spacious family Room to chill out in, two bedrooms, and a lovely shade-dappled patio with swing and dining table. The property has a spacious garden, and since the owners are grandparents, there is almost a full playground which our toddler enjoyed very much! a toddler swing, trampoline, slide, various push toys… honestly we could have stayed at the property the whole time and he wouldn’t have been bored. We visited in the middle of a heat wave and the apartment was still cool - we only turned on the AC a couple of times during the whole visit. Most importantly, Loris and Boris were the kindest hosts. If you want to stay in a soulful property in central Istria, this is the place to go.

“What is not to like??”
Absolutely a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the nice clean pool. Very kind and attentive hosts welcoming us with a drink and generously providing us with fruit and vegetables from their garden over the four days we stayed there. They keep the place clean and orderly sweeping/washing around the pool almost every day. They both speake good English. They rent out bikes at EUR 5 a day. Highly recommended and we would love to come back.

“Peaceful and beautiful place between 2 nice "old cities" to visit.”
We arrived last minute and they were so friendly and welcomed us although at that moment Croatian national team was plaing football. They offered us a fresh welcome drink. We travelled by bike and they made a reservation for us in a small restaurant in Oprtalj where we had a nice dinner with a "wonderful" view. It was not foreseen but our hostess made us a fantastic and rich breakfast and we could eat on the terrrace of the appartment. Thank you again !

Amazing hosts (friendly and helpful). Location is just my type. In the village but very close to many attractions (15mins drive with a car). Accommodation was very clean and we had a plenty of space. It was my second stay here and definitely will be my base for exploring (northern) Istria the next time I come as well.

“Enjoy a break at this accommodation taking in the Istrian culture, calmness and tranquility.”
In the last 5 years we have visited Croatia 3 - 4 times per year and stayed at various accommodations and locations. This is, by far, the best accommodation we have stayed at and we would not hesitate in recommending to anyone in making this their first choice to stay in Istria. Of particular note was the very friendly, kind and hospitable hosts making us feel part of their family. The rural location was quiet, beautiful with an abundance of nature. Of particular note and a beautiful surprise was the recent installation of a brand new swimming pool, solar shower and landscaping of the garden. This alone, fought for our attention daily against the wonderful nearby attractions of the Parenzana cycle track, the renowned Istrian hilltop towns, truffles and olive oil farms. We intend to make this our future Croatian holiday base whilst continuing to enjoy the best of what Istria has to offer. Thank you to Boris, Loris, Lana and bambino for a wonderful and memorable holiday experience.
