Overview
The Hotel Caprice boasts a perfectly quiet, but very central location in the mountain village of Grindelwald in the Bernese Oberland, and offers you impressive views of the mountains. Enjoy comfortable rooms with a balcony or a garden terrace and the beautiful views of the majestic mountains. There is also a wonderful garden with deck chairs, wicker chairs, beautiful floral decorations and a unique view of the famous North Face of the Eiger. Small snacks are served at the property, while guests get a discount on a 5-course menu at the Hotel Alpina, which is 100 metres away. The cable cars and buses are only a few steps away. Upon request and availability parking spaces in an underground car park are at your disposal at an additional cost. The spa offers a hot tub, a sauna, a steam bath, a massage shower, a herbal bath, a solarium and professional massages.

“Great choice to stay in Grindelwald”
Great location: Minutes to Grindelwald train and bus station. 15min walk to First Cable car station. Visitor card grants free ride on bus 121-123, connecting Grindelwald Terminal station. Supermarket is also within 5min walk. Tips to travellers: it’s on a small hill (3-4min with luggage) and no lift in the house, so bring manageable luggage. However because of this it has a better view and is quiet at night to ensure good sleep. I had a room with a balcony that’s facing the Eiger peak and a lovely garden. Room has great shower water, and shades to keep the heat out during summer. In late June, it’s refreshing to wake up to a good view and seeing sunshine scatter across mountains. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is nice with varieties of food and view of the mountains. For tax below 50, prepare cash in CHF (ATM is close too)

“Cosy, warm hotel in Grindelwald.”
For those that prefer smaller, friendly, family owned and run hotels, Caprice is perfect. The staff were efficient and very helpful. A daily news bulletin was provided every morning at breakfast which included weather forecasts, snow reports for skiers and suggestions for places to visit or local activities. Not forgetting the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi! A bonus for me was its close proximity to Grindelwald train station. A guestcard gave free use of buses 121, 122 and 123 which gave access to ski lifts to First, Männlichen and the Eiger Express up to Eiger Gletscher and Kleine Scheidigg. The view of the Eiger was wonderful. My room faced west, looking towards the Männlichen mountain (see uploaded photo).

Very central location close to bus and train station as well as restaurants and rentals. Amazing breakfast. New room in typical Alpine style. Nee and beautiful SPA. Possibility to buy skipass there

“Perfect location for your stay at Grindelwald”
The rooms are extremely clean and also spacious. The breakfast was great and the hosts are very attentive. The location is excellent with the train station only 3 minutes walking.

The breakfasts were excellent and the location was great. It is located on a hill and there is a steep climb to get there so may be difficult to reach for some people.

We loved Grindelwald, and we loved Hotel Caprice. It's such a wonderful hotel. Super friendly owners and staff. Very comfortable and clean. Great breakfast with great coffee. The location is perfect. Eating breakfast while looking up at the Eiger. What more can you want. Highly recommend Hotel Caprice if you are travelling to Grindelwald. We will be back.

“A friendly, comfortable and relaxing place to stay in Grindelwald.”
Alexander, his family and the staff were friendly, very knowledgeable and always happy to answer questions or make suggestions. The breakfast was high quality. The location near the train station was fantastic. Overall a great place to stay in Grindelwald.

The hotel is centrally located near the railway station. The owner Alexander was very helpful, loaning me walking poles to go hiking. My room was kept very clean. I had a stunning view from my bedroom window. Good breakfast

Everything! -You are basically in front of the train station (almost) -The room was comfy and quite big -Breakfast was great -Everyone working there was super friendly and nice And on top of all that the views are magnificent! Worth every penny.

“Perfect stay at Hotel Caprice”
10/10 hotel with a stunning view to Eiger. We stayed here for two days, and were so good taken care of by the friendly owners of this beautiful hotel. We got the best hiking tips for mountain parts that are not so crowded, and will forever remember the spectacular nature and views. I can highly recommend a stay at Hotel Caprice.
