“Very pleasant stay”

A traditional and cosy 2* hotel located in the outskirts of Grindelwald. The bus to the slopes stops every 15' right in front of the hotel which makes moving around (during the day) very easy. Even more, there is a very nice red slope ending just one bus stop down from the hotel, which makes it almost a ski-in hotel. Facility-wise is what someone would expect from a 2* hotel. Not exceptional but still absolutely and spotlessly clean (a cleaner would come in every day), with great wi-fi, loads of hot water and good heating (we were there with -15 Celsius and harldy felt anything). The personnel is extremely friendly and pleasant. And the breakfast, although not extremely diversified, is very tasty with home made jam and tasty bread, croissants, fruit, cereals, ham and cheese, yoghurt and fresh butter and any hot drink someone would wish for (no eggs etc). Overall, and given the prices in Grindelwald, it was worth the money we paid for. Just last year we paid almost twice this amount to be tacked in an apartment in central Grindelwald, without any view of the mountains. If you don't mind the distance, the place is great.

The hotel is right outside the free bus into town. It’s quiet and is above the hotel restaurant. The staff were very friendly. The free breakfast was great and included freshly made food from the owners farm. Highly recommend to get away from the crowds in town.

The location was a bit off from town/ train station but there is a free bus that would take us right to the hotel.

“You will be amazed by the view and your stay experience!”

The view from the balcony (south facing) is out of this world. Magnificent! Room has Swiss charm and is ultra clean with a very comfortable bed. Zorica the hostess/owner is wonderful, as are all the staff (always friendly and helpful). In my opinion, this is the best location for any hotel in Grindelwald as it is near the end of the village road, away from all the busy, touristy hubbub, and it delivers an authentic rustic, country hotel experience, which is why I travel there. Also, it is not priced out of reach for the average person, though all of Switzerland is generally expensive. But it is worth every Swiss Franc to experience this! The restaurant is also quite good, serving up regional dishes, and so it is very convenient to be able to eat there instead of going into town about 2 km down. Just a wonderful experience through and through. I've been coming to Hotel Bluemlisalp since 1988, at least eight times now, and I will keep coming back over and over again!

Location was awesome and room looking out on the mountains- fantastic, very comfortable. As the restaurant was closed for two of our four day stay, would been really nice to have tea/coffee making facilities or a kettle/cups. Hair dryer would have been great too

Breakfast was adequate continental. Location and the view, was fantastic but only if you have a car. If walking it was too far (1hour walk) to main Grindelwald. Bus service stopped early (6:30 - 7pm) just when you would like to have dinner, so either eat early or eat in the restaurant in hotel, if it was open.
