“Not what we expected but lovely in the end and we were pleasantly surprised”

Location was handy to Dettifoss and the included breakfast was fabulous. The rooms were in the hosts house and although small were very comfy and clean. There was only one bathroom for two hosts and four guests. This wasn’t an issue over our two day stay. Had our own space of an evening overlooking the mountains, fields and ponds. The hosts were very respectful of our space. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The eastern side gravel road to Dettifoss and further north was ok to drive in our rented Kia Sportage.

Sigga was friendly and hospitable. She made us Icelandic breakfast. We shared stories and laughter. The house was clean and renovated. It's a few minute drive from the highway on a gravel road with some potholes. It's close to the geothermal area and Dettifoss (waterfall).

We truly appreciated the hostess's remarkable kindness, the calm and quiet of her home and the delicious, hearty breakfeast with homemade products she served.

“Homey guesthouse close to Dettifoss”

Cozy room in great location when I planned to visit the two sides of Dettifoss. The guesthouse rooms are part of a nice lady and her husband's house, which is lovely. Guests can use the living room and even the kitchen. I like the glasshouse-like living area where we had breakfast. The view is spectacular. The bedroom is clean with comfortable beds. The shared bathroom is kept clean. The homemade breakfast was excellent. I love the smoked salmon and pancake. Plus, staying here also offered a good opportunity to talk to the local people and learn Icelandic culture and useful words.

We had a great stay here. Sigga and her husband are very nice people. The place itself is quite remote and thus very clam which we liked. Everything was very clean. Bathroom is well equipped and modern furnished. There are some birds and goose around very close to the house which you can watch from the veranda. Breakfast was great! Pancakes and homemade cake are served :) Wifi was perfect to watch a football game. We were allowed to use the kitchen for cooking and storing a few things in the fridge. Had a great stay here and can really recommend it!

Sigga was the loveliest, kindest, warmest woman who let us use her kitchen and home like it was our own. Her and her husband were so full of life and love and welcomed us like family. It was like staying with our grandparents and felt like home. She prepared a lovely homemade delicious breakfast and we couldn't have asked for more. 100% recommend staying here if you want to meet lovely people and stay in a warm beautiful home.
