Beautiful location, well situated between Lake Myvatn & Husavik so perfect for our itinerary. Property is lovely and the garden has great views and a couple of lovely rabbits that kept our children entertained.

Lovely, quiet guesthouse that offers everything you need and more. Everything was very clean and the room has a modern and cozy interior. Also, there's a well equipped, separate kitchen/common room that's free for everyone to use. Communication was friendly and easy. We felt right at home!

The house was fantastic: clean, tidy, warm and surrounded by spectacular landscape. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. My friend and I had a great time: the only two nights we rested during the Ring Road.

Beautiful accommodation, a bit remote but very quiet. All you can hear are the sheep and the sound of the waterfall. Highly recommended.

Granastaðir Guesthouse was the highlight of our trip! We(two couples) spent three nights here and had a fantastic time. Not only was everything very clean in our suite, it was also beautifully and stylishly decorated with nice details and a great bathroom. We immediately felt at home. The surroundings are also wonderful, with a pretty and well-kept garden and there is even a waterfall nearby. It is all dreamlike! The biggest surprise for us was that there was a shared kitchen. We had not expected a kitchen at all and have found here simply the best equipped and most beautiful kitchen of the entire trip. And again everything was spotless clean. I also want to add that Svana is a great host. Before we even arrived she provided us with the latest information regarding construction sites or even closures on our route and helped us to avoid those. Another thing I noticed is that some of the reviews mention that there is no dishwasher or that they had issues with locking the front door. When we were there, there was a dishwasher and there were also instruction on how the front door works, so my impression is that Svana takes reviews and feedback very seriously and keeps improving Granastaðir Guesthouse. Svana, if you read this, you're doing a great job and have created a beautiful place! It couldn't have been any better for us! So for all of you out there looking for a place to stay while exploring Húsavík or the Mývatn area, I absolutely recommend this place!

“Wonderful calm place to stay, I did not want to leave!”

Beautifully decorated and comfortable appartment. By far and away the best we stayed in during our trip. It was so calm and quiet, i loved the long track to get there. I have never slept so well. I was not sure about the shared kitchen but actually it worked really well and had everything you needed. I will come back if I ever need to relax and have some time to myself!

“A beautiful stay at Granastadir Guesthouse”

This was one of my favorite accommodations overall, and it was definitely the best accommodation we've had in Iceland. Location is close enough to Husavik, on a beautiful little farm with an amazing view to the hill with a small waterfall and horses, rabbits, flower house. Everything was new, clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped perfectly for our stay. Hosts helped us organize late check-in and were available for additional questions. Joint kitchen area with board games and basic things like coffee, tea, etc. We felt like being at home and will returm one day for sure. Thank you!

“Luxurious stay in north Iceland”

Very luxurious guesthouse. Close to Husavik and Iceland's "Diamond Circle". Very friendly and helpful owners. Nice and spacious garden, with sufficient privacy if you want to eat outside (if the Icelandic weather allows for it).
