“Lovely property for a group trip”

Excellent set up for a group of six. We loved the terrace, felt private and secluded, whilst not out of the way. There was a big table and six chairs, a barbecue, whilst there was a small balcony on the double bedroom where we could hang our wet towels. The pool was lovely, accessed through a gate that you have a key for, perfect for cooling down, and the umbrellas provided were a good use. There were no sun loungers so do be aware of that, but we carried the two sun lounger / deck chairs from the property to the pool and also sat on the floor, it didn’t bother us in the slightest! The pool was open from 10am-3pm, then closed from 3 pm until 5pm, then it was open again from 5-11pm. We always left before 3 however so don’t know if it was actually enforced. Pool towels were provided, so there’s not a real need to bring any. Plenty of towels in the property too! There were some shower products also. We did have to purchase some more toilet roll and hand soap, as there were not very many but we were a big group so this is fair enough. Dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid were provided but there was no sponge for actual dishwashing. Plenty of plates, cutlery etc. It was very clean and impressive, with beautiful tiles on the stairs! The air con in the living room was fantastic. However, unfortunately, the bedrooms were only cooled down by ceiling fans. We found this to be somewhat uncomfortable at times as it was very hot! It didn’t keep us awake at night, though in the single room with the pull out bed, it did get very hot. The ceiling fans in the double bedroom was very loud too, and very wobbly. I am a very heavy sleeper though, so it didn’t bother me! I opened the shutters at night to allow cooler air in which helped. It wasn’t a major issue for us and I expect anyone who isn’t from freezing England probably wouldn’t be bothered by it (we’re not used to heat haha!) but is something to keep in mind during warmer months!

We really liked the apartment – it’s compact yet spacious and comfortable. The quiet area is gated at night, and it has its own restaurants and a pool.

“Absolutely fantastic holiday”

Property was absolutely beautiful. Beds were comfortable shower was powerful, loads of beach towels it had everything we needed for our family holiday. Host couldn’t have done enough they responded to quickly to questions they also ordered us taxi to airport on last day.

“Lovely family stay”

Lovely quite location, suitable for families. Very clean, we felt safe and happy here. Near the pool and a short walk to the shop. 15 minute drive from the airport. Also provided 4 beach towels along with a beach umbrella which came in very handy, thank you. The pictures represent the house well. The double and twin beds were comfortable, the single bed not so much! Host was pleasant and left check in instructions via wats app when we were on route from the airport, weren't there to meet us on arrival. We would be happy to return again.

Spotless, lovely place and great location. Clean rooms with comfortable beds, everything you need in the kitchen area. Free parking outside and great WiFi connection . In the residential complex (near the pool) you can find great restaurants Il Porko Rosso and Patagonia Steak House the steak was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection .

Ideal property for our family group (6 adults). Property is located in a quiet residential complex which is 15-20 mins from Alicante Airport. Property is a short distance from pool, tennis court and small bar & restaurant area located in the complex and was very quiet at night. A car is useful but not absolutely necessary. Good secure parking area but you can also park outside in the street if necessary. Bus stop for local buses and land train just outside the entrance to the complex. There are a couple of large supermarkets a few miles away but you also have a smaller supermarket, some small shops and a few restaurants local to the complex. Nice beaches down the hill towards Arenales del Sol. If you are looking for a quiet place then this will suit you, if you are looking to be in the biz then probably not for you. One bathroom is upstairs along with the 3 bedrooms and second bathroom is on the ground floor. Nice and clean for our arrival. Kitchen facilities were great with kettle, toaster, microwave, full hob and oven. Nice sitting area outside and the pool area was fine for us. Felt secure & safe. We were there in September and would be very happy to stay here again.

“A quiet fortnight to soak up the sun in a lovely home with excellent hosts.”

Casa Ilda was a lovely home in a gated community in Gran Alacant. This specific area of Alicante is a very quiet suburb, but that suited us for this particular trip. The apartment itself is 2 minutes away from a bus stop that will get you to Santa Pola, Alicante, etc (busses not very frequent, but in December it was off season). The place is 10 mins walk from a well stocked supermarket (Unide) and 5 mins walk to a smaller local supermarket (Bazar). 25/35 mins to Aldi or the Gran Alacant mall with Lidl etc. It's 15 minutes downhill to the Carabassi beach, but the hill back is very steep (all the hills in Gran Alacant are; it's basically built atop a sharp hilltop). You can get a bus down to the beach though. (remember masks, and it's about 1.55 euro each- super cheap). The apartment itself was clean, bright and sufficient for our needs, but it really excelled from the fact that the hosts were extremely accommodating and flexible; our flight came in quite late but they were happy to wait up for keys handover, and generally if there were any minor requests at our end they were supremely happy to help (book a taxi etc), so generally that aspect in particular was exemplary. Gran Alacant won't be for everybody; it's very quiet, very hilly, and not exactly a 'resort', but it is close to the airport, close to Alicante, feels safe, is a decent base to operate from, and if you like having a walk, you can shed a lot of kilos while stomping around (skywalk at the mirador -40 minutes walk. Santa Pola, about an hour across rough terrain, marked paths, rural tundra).

The host warmly welcomed us outside the property at check-in and kept in touch via WhatsApp. The property completely exceeded our expectations. The house was spotless including both bathrooms with fresh towels. The bedrooms have fantastic storage and have outside shutters which helped to make the rooms blackout. The WiFi connection was strong and the house felt very secure with a lockable front gate and gated community. The house is in a lovely location and is excellent value for money. We will definitely be back to Casa Ilda again when coming to Gran Alacant.
