The hotel is charming, with gorgeous, cozy, comfortable rooms. The staff is great, the location perfect, and cleanliness is impeccable throughout.

The Manager was very helpful and accommodating.

Lovely large, comfortable room. Beautiful surroundings and location. Breakfast was presented in a really appealing way, with multiple options, both cooked or chilled. Cooked options were separately ordered. The outdoor area was really attractively decorated, inviting and luxurious. We were able to store our touring bikes safely and securely, a great bonus.

The accommodation overall was good, room spacious and staff at reception very friendly. Breakfast was good and excellent location, near to attractions and transport I loved the history of the building and how it was developed into nice boutique hotel.

At first glance the hotel looked amazing - what a perfect setting for a gorgeous stay. Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing, given we’d been looking forward to a few days in Gouda at this good-looking venue. The worst news was that the restaurant was not available to us for either of the two nights. Really disappointing as we’d booked the hotel two months ahead. At no time were we told that we wouldn’t be able to use the restaurant as it was a Michelin-starred property. The room itself was very pretty but not at all practical. Despite its size there were no wardrobes or shelving for our clothing. We had to use very narrow stairs to reach sleeping area & had to swivel at the top stair to gain access round a huge tv that was in the way. In fairness the shower room was lovely but not the highlight we expected. The staff were not unfriendly but more dismissive. We felt like intruders around the hotel, especially when accessing the lift to our room as we were politely asked to use a door at the back so we didn’t offend diners in the restaurant we couldn’t use! Breakfast was awkward as there were no English menus & choice was very limited. Certainly wouldn’t come back.

I recently stayed at WSHS in Gouda for the second time, having visited two years ago as well. I’m happy to say that the hotel remains just as beautiful and charming as I remember. The design is stunning, the atmosphere warm and inviting, and the staff are incredibly kind and welcoming — they truly make you feel at home.
