A beautiful cottage in the heart of Gouda. We received a very warm welcome and full tour of the cottage on arrival. It is set in a peaceful courtyard, which would have been lovely to sit and enjoy if the weather had been warmer and drier. The cottage has all you could want for a stay in Gouda, with a supermarket on the main square only a 5 minute walk away (if that). We were able to keep our bikes safely in the courtyard too.

A wonderful location in the heart of Gouda, very close to its historic center. The cottage is cozy and perfect for two.

As soon as you step through the threshold of THE APPLE TREE COTTAGE, time seems to stand still. It's a rare heaven where the light dances beautifully through the branches and every detail seems to have been thoughtfully chosen. We were soothed by the serenity of the garden and the authentic charm of this house which tells a story. Between breakfast as nature awakens and a peaceful evening, this stay was pure poetry. A precious address that you'd like to keep secret while simultaneously wanting to share it with the world. Thank you Jos and Marleen for this moment of pure bliss.

It’s great having the whole cottage (even though it’s only one up - one down). Lovely and snug and tucked away from the road. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is excellent. The kitchen facilities are fine although we didn’t really use them. It was clean and well equipped. Jos is a lovely host.

This is one of the warmest and coziest places we've ever stayed at! Everything was just perfect — from the host’s heartfelt hospitality to every corner of this charming home. The atmosphere is truly special: a feeling of peace, comfort, and care surrounds you from the very first moment. The location is ideal — right in the heart of Gouda, with a magical garden that’s a joy to spend time in. The town itself is full of character and truly reflects the spirit of the Netherlands — and this place is just perfect to enjoy it fully. Staying here feels like being at home. We left with warmth in our hearts and already know we’d love to come back. A huge thank you to the host for such a wonderful experience!

Perfect location,lovely garden and very quite!

The cottage is super nice, in the center of the town near restaurants, the supermarket and everything you might need. The hosts are very friendly and extremely helpful.

Just as advertised, Apple Tree Cottage is a lovely little home in a gorgeous location. We had everything we needed for a great stay. Jos & Marleen were friendly, welcoming and had lots of local knowledge to share too.

Apple Tree Cottage is idyllic. A period property, loving restored in a beautiful courtyard garden. The property has everything you need and was spotlessly clean. It’s a peaceful spot, with a canal to the front and, just a short walk into the centre, where you can find all the fabulous things Gouda has to offer. The hosts were amazing and went above and beyond to help with the loan of a child’s bike for our daughter to use. There if you need them, but not intrusive.

Everything was wonderful. Jos & Marleen are excellent hosts and the cottage is in a gorgeous setting and a great location in Gouda! It is fitted with everything you'll need and more, especially if you plan to cook for yourselves. Definitely look no further for a cozy and relaxing stay in historic Gouda!
