"Freigeist" translates as "free spirit", not sure why this title was chosen for the hotel name. They take great care for all modern / fashionable issues like sustainability, bio food etc The reception at arrival was remarkable: during registration when filling in forms, we were offered a welcome drink and told what were the 3 choices, we had to chose on the spot, and within 20 seconds the drinks were served, no time nor choice given to first settle down, to park the car, etc; so the first impression of the German meaning of Freigeist was: comply to the orders of the sergeant behind the reception desk ... later on our experience of the behavior of the staff was normal

Hotel was chosen as a stop off from driving but was surprised at how stylish and comfortable it was. We were able to buy our own breakfast and eat it upstairs at the sky bar. A really nice touch.

“Very stylish and comfortable design hotel”
The hotel is very new and stylish hotel. The room is very spacey with beautiful and modern interior design. The cosmetics in the bathroom is great. The breakfast is excellent, despite being pricey: so many options, good fruits, delicacies, homemade granola and so on and everything is delicious. Overall, we had great time there!

“Amazing stay, everything is on point.”

“Good hotel! Clean & Pleasant.”
The hotel was good clean, well-appointed. Breakfast worked well. Parking was simple (except for the aggro from Gottingen's cycling community when our car was 2cm inside their expressway).

Check-in and check-out were OK, the staff very friendly. However, we arrived at the hotel late one afternoon and asked if we could have some water from the welcome cocktail, and the receptionist replied, "No, don't you have water in the room?", for she was rude.

It felt that the staff was very inexperienced, perhaps new people undergoing their training? Quite disappointing considering the very high price. I very much disliked shakshuka in the restaurant which was burned to a crisp.
