We arrived after the reception was closed already and the entrance door locked (at 22:30). We proceeded with online check-in via machine at the entrance. After completing the check-in forms and making the payment, the machine displayed our room number, but no other information (i.e. no key card, no code etc.) and it proceeded with a "Thank you!" message on the screen. While we were puzzled about the glitch, some other hotel guests opened the door, and we decided to go inside in the lobby waiting for some confirmation email. At the lobby we were "greeted" by a hotel employee/owner(?) claiming we broke in in the hotel illegally ?! and threatening to call the police and kick us out. I never faced such rude behavior. Not only did we receive no service/instructions after paying for the night (ok, glitches do happen, no big deal!), but being treated as burglars was just completely inappropriate. At the end we did receive a refund for the stay, but the whole drama was totally unnecessary

A new B&B Hotel in Gotha, in a strategic place close to the railway station and in walking distance to the castle & historic centrum. The equipment is minimalist (as expected), just fine for an overnight stay.

“Adequate provision for a one-night stay but hotel badly needs upgrading.”
Close to railway station and other public transport. Adequate facilities on site including a lift to higher floors. Room pretty much as expected for this chain of hotels.
