“A quiet stay in a historical city”
Breakfast, though not included in the price, was excellent, with a good spread. The decor of the breakfast room and the hotel in general was remarkable. The hotel is smack in the middle of the old city, and we had a very quiet stay, maybe also because it was during the holiday seasons and there were not many things going around the city. A short walk across a bridge and you are already in Poland, although the Polish side used to be part of the city of Goerlitz too in the past. Such remarkable history.

“Amazing! Highly recommend.”
Kind host and can speak English very well. Beautiful room, bar, breakfast area... everything is authentic, traditional and well maintained with all modern necessities. Location is good, next to cute plaza with restaurants and bars, 5 minutes from the bridge that brings to you Polish border over the river.

“Wonderful stay at Hotel Emmerich”
We had a wonderful stay at the Emmerich Hotel. Situated in the historic Alstadt it is perfectly located for visitors who want to explore the old town. The renovation of the building and conversion into a hotel has been sympathetically and tastefully done. The fixtures and fittings of the rooms are of a high quality. The staff were helpful and friendly. We had an exceptionally good meal in the hotel restaurant and the breakfast was terrific too.

“Quirky little place”
This is a quirky little place set up for German speaking tourists. ie no notices or signs in English. No breakfast chef on duty first morning as there were only 2 of us in hotel, so no buffet just a tray of items to eat...

“Great weekend getaway”
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the tub in the suite was luxurious, and it’s smack dab in the most beautiful part of town. Breakfast was great too.

The location is great, and the surroundings are very nice. The room was very spacious, clean, and nicely arranged. I liked how soundproof the room was - this is a rare thing. The bathroom area with a big tub right in the center is a nice way to relax.
