“Excellent stay”

We booked this as a last minute stay and didn’t have any expectations, but the host was so lovely and gave us great recommendations, the space was clean well thought out and set up, parking close by and we were very impressed overall. The area is just back from the river and is in a quaint little one way street in a residential area. 100% happy and exceeded any expectations

“Stay at Satsuki”

We had a wonderful stay at Satsuki in Gojo. The house is beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. It was easy to reach by train and also to move around in the area (if you plan to visit Yoshino, Koyasan, etc.). Gojo itself was also super nice and relaxed, with a great onsen and good restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

A traditional japanese house in a great location. It has a well-equipped kitchen and a very hospitable owner. Truly recommend

Beautiful, luxury, new place. The owner wasn"t at home, but his father, who also spoke English, was very helpful.. we could reach the owner himself by whatsapp, just great!

Easy location. Very comfortable. Could do laundry. Nice shared dining area. Walkable to look around town and to go out for supper. Convenience and grocery store close by.

We've found exactly what we were looking for: a stay in old Japanese machiya house (refurbished) but with modern amenities. Very nice public hot spring in the walking distance, Very good place to make trip f.e. to Koyosan.

We had our last 2 nights in Japan staying in this gorgeous little town Gojō. Our hosts Shogo and Miyu went above and beyond to make it a wonderful stay. They really made it special and were so generous with their time. This would be the ideal place to bring a group or family, and use it as a base to explore the countryside. Thank you Shogo for showing us your town, teaching us about Sake and answering our endless questions.

“Wonderful traditional inn with modern comforts”

Gorgeous traditional house with clean minimalistic interiors, modern furnishing and electronic locks. It’s located in a beautiful street of traditional wooden houses, great to walk through. Some nice restaurants and an onsen within walking distance! We booked the triple comfort room and it was extremely comfortable, with free drinks and amenities and a brand new bathroom.

“Historic building, relaxing stay.”

Lovely accommodation in a historic building in an old street. Shogo was very welcoming and I found the stay to be very relaxing. Added bonus was being able to watch a thunderstorm come in over the river thanks to the panoramic windows of the room. Would happily stay there again in the future.

Situated in a renovated traditional Japanese house, the host Shogo went above and beyond to help us with the logistics and to plan our three days stay in the area.

Shogo was incredibly kind and welcoming, he even helped us check in even though we arrived late. The room was spotless and exceptionally comfortable. We truly appreciated the warm hospitality. Highly recommended!

“Great gem in a most picturesque village street”

The place is double of a gem: beautifully refurbished traditional Japanese merchant’s house in the middle of the historical street of Gojo. The village may skip most of Western travelers - they miss out a most picturesque and diligently revived village history amidst lush green and afoot the Wakayama hills.

“Perfect Stay!”

We had an unforgettable stay at Satsuki! The host is truly a heartwarming person – incredibly kind, caring, and always there when you need help. After we got lost while hiking, he kindly came to pick us up. We also had some amazing, heartfelt conversations with him – such a beautiful and thoughtful soul! He speaks perfect English and gave us great insider tips and restaurant recommendations. Thanks to him, we had the best Okonomiyaki at a nearby local spot – so delicious and unique! It was a completely different experience from Tokyo, where things often felt more impersonal. Here, everything was filled with warmth and sincerity. We also enjoyed a typical Japanese breakfast, which was simple, delicious, and such a special experience. It’s those little moments that make a Japan trip feel truly complete and authentic. The house is cozy, peaceful, and perfect for hiking. There are supermarkets nearby, and the whole area has a romantic and relaxing vibe. It’s an ideal place for couples, nature lovers, or anyone seeking a quiet break from the big cities. We felt completely at home and are already looking forward to coming back. Thank you for making our stay so special – this place and its people will stay in our hearts!
